Hey friends!
I wanted to share a picture with you of our recently finished visualisation. It's for a monument in Dordrecht, the Netherlands, showing the various states of the buildings from 1572 through 2007. Our team of five at Paladin Studios spent about a month on it.
Here's an image of the monastery in 1572. It's all real-time stuff too, meaning that you can walk through the 3D model (instead of pre-rendered animation).
Hope you like it!

Cheers Ob, but what do you think of the viz?Obfleur wrote:Looking good Dylan
The engine we use is trusty Quest3D, it's the software packet we around we set up our company, in a sense. We like it a lot.
Besty, I do agree that it would look nicer with a bit of poo here and there. We'll keep it in mind for our next one!
No hookers, unfortunately. It would be fun to have hookers evolve into something else from 1572 to 2007... any suggestions?
Anyway, I appreciate all of your comments! I installed the viz on a touch screen info kiosk kind of thing (whatchamacallit), that's a real cool way of experiencing it.
Stay tuned for the downloadable real-time version!
(Or rather, just continue with all of your respective wonderful lives, and then at some point I'll post the link here for your checking pleasure.)

with their pimps driving around in flying cars. You know the 21st Century's gonna have flying cars all over the 'hood.Best First wrote:more expensive hookers?Dylan wrote: No hookers, unfortunately. It would be fun to have hookers evolve into something else from 1572 to 2007... any suggestions?
Hmm, that second picture looks pretty anachronistic for 1572. What with the plate-glass windows and mass-produced bricks and other whatnot.
Oh yeah, and that streetlight is a dead giveaway.
Who doesn't?
I'm guessing the 17th Century was a dark page in their history that they prefer people not to know about... what with the time-travelling pimps in flying cars, or "Ye Orbes!" as I believe the locals would have called them had they spoken like 20th century people poorly mimicking their English contemporaries.
