Any way of downloading old tv shows legally in the UK?
I'm feeling a bit stupid, but itunes only gives me the option of music, podcasts, etc.

No. You'll have to breach copyright law like the rest of us.spiderfrommars wrote:Any way of downloading old tv shows legally in the UK?

not legal tho.
All the channels at the moment AFAIK only put up current shows from the last 7 days online.

Any experience with torrents so far has been usually frustrating. But cheers for the PM Ob. I'll take a look.
edit - I'd like to add the point that I would pay for stuff if it was available online from official sources. And by that I don't mean a £39.99 box set when I'll only watch each episode once.
What are people's thoughts on the issue?

Personally, I would just get bittorrent and get them for free. Once you get used to it, its incredibly simple. You just get the torrents running. Check back in a day, and you have an entire season.

totally agree - really want to catch up on doctow who and would happily pay a few quid to download eps, for example.spiderfrommars wrote: edit - I'd like to add the point that I would pay for stuff if it was available online from official sources. What sort of files are they?spiderfrommars wrote:Nope, that doesn't work either.Obfleur wrote:VLC media player!
I've got lots of pretty new applications on my desk top tho.
If they're from iTunes then they will need to play in iTunes for DRM and stuff.
If you've got them from torrents they're liable to be ISOs and things like that there- which will need burning onto a DVD to play.
