And I'll hope (much in vain) that my ex-flatmate won't be selling his vote to the highest bidder like last time. That's not a metaphor, by the way -- he actually sold it to the backer for a Republican candidate.

Absentee? You mean overseas at the time? Yeah, and I think he's still in the UK somewhere.
