He was born and bred here, received a grammar school education, we were all his friends non-Muslims and Muslims alike... what on earth happened to him to make him see things in such a way? It's truly terrifying what some groups can do to a man.

One of the main people being done for the plot to blow up American Airline jets over the Atlantic lives about 5 houses down from me, pretty much exactly the same age, same school etc.

He was always a prick with small man syndrome, though blowing up planes is a bit of a step up from that.

I cant belive they ever think it will achive anything... do they seriously think the world will change for them? and not end up hating thier cause/religion instead.

It's probably to do with familiarity and the impressions of people you've met, compared to those who you've never heard of before.

Works the same with Rags to Riches stories too. Only with a more pleasant outcome, obviously.
