Best soundtrack album of the 80's!

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

TF:TM might be an all-time favorite of mine, but I think the 80's best soundtrack album was "Top Gun". I mean, look at the performers on it! You got Kenny Loggins, Cheap Trick, Berlin, Loverboy, Harold Faltermeyer, and others. You can't go wrong with a roster like that! TF:TM is probably somewhere right behind it though! Same thing with "Heavy Metal". Yeah, Heavy Metal was another awesome one. How often do you see an animated film featuring songs by Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Cheap Trick, Devo, Donald Fagen, Don Felder, Grand Funk Railroad, Sammy Hagar, Journey, Nazareth, Stevie Nicks, Riggs, and Trust? Not very often I think.

The TF:TM soundtrack was pretty ******* ***** wasn't it?

Top Gun is decent, the scene music on Blade Runner is lovely as well - but its not really soundtrack music and you have to get the 'cheeky' Blade Runner album if you want to listen to all of it anyway.

Regardless, Purple Rain shits on the lot of em, effortlessly.

I've been meaning to check that one out. Not that orchestral one, but the one with the actual film score.

Yeah, there's some other pretty good songs on there besides the GB theme.
