So yesterday I found a great new way to enjoy myself, the wonderful world of fishing, what a quality day out, whatever was caught was thrown back. I enjoy sitting on the bank of a large pond in the middle of nowhere, proper teen slasher country.
Anyway there was myself and two friends, it's cool it spilled rain, but not a bother on me stood stockstill, could be the first time I've enjoyed the rain and I've seen alot of it in my day.
A day not wasted

Used to love fishing as a kid. My dad used to take us to the lake every summer, in between swimming and whatnot we'd go out and fish... we never caught a lot but we'd always keep a couple from what we did catch and bring them with us to cook up over a campfire. It was awesome. After awhile I was obsessed with it- I recieved a decent rod for a birthday, and I had bought a tacklebox. My allowance was used to buy fishing lures, gaming/fishing magazines, and rent fishing games for a time. I loved it that much.
I just sort of grew out of it though. Enjoyed the odd trip or two out to the lake or river, but by that time the river fish had been declared unsafe to eat and the lake fish seemed to be few and far between- as did oppertunities to even go fishing or camping. Plus I was getting older... more pressing matters, like music, school, teenage-type worries and other people were on my mind. I fished off and on, went with my brother, my then best friend/ex-sis in law and my oldest niece out to the trout pond every weekend when I was 17 or so... never was much the same though.
I mentioned maybe going camping and fishing to my boyfriend the other day. He said something to the effect of "Sure, as long as you take care of whatever we catch"... and that was when I realized I'd never really done so [I'd always had my dad, an uncle, brother or grandpa around to help me out], and probably couldn't bring myself to kill anything for food. So I dunno what will happen in that regard. I'd love to go, but I can't remember how to handle a fish. I know I was taught or shown at one point but I apparently didn't retain the info. :/
