If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

What with its alcohol-fueled entertainment and overabundance of lairy individuals grinding up against each other and random passers-by?
It's worse than I thought. I'm engaging it in conversation.

COMICS is what I'm about.
And a high quality printed publication with foonys in em' truly, really, is an integral part of the festivitas. ^^

I love how this topic has derailed from concern about people leaving the board to trying to drive Predabot away.

I'm impressed that people never give up that quest.
Can't believe I'm still here.

He's like a dead mouse behind a large bookshelf- you know its there and dislikeable (as well as unhygenic) but you just can't quite develop a suitable plan to remove it...

I can think of a suitable plan.
I just can't get it to pass the review board.

Comics do not come into TransFest.

The menus from the Thai takeaway?
You've never been to a TransFest, have you?

Oh come on, it's an old time-honored tradition here at Transfans.

You've never been to a TransFest, have you?
Sadly, no.
There was something very big, wet and darkish blue in my way, and I couldn't quite get pass it. Darn it.

Distilled into its most basic constituents (and I can say this with a fair amount of authority, given that I attended all 28* hours of the last one), TransFest is General Discussions in a pub. With alcohol. Lots of alcohol. And in a pub. Did I mention the alcohol?
* Actually 30 hours, but I didn't want to appear as a saddo who arrived 2 hours early and went for a walk around the Thames in a fruitless search for a useable toilet.

I brought a pretty girl to (a partial) Transfest. Makes up for a lot.

I think its worth pointing out again that Transfest involved beer, and a pub.
in case no one is clear about that.

At the one held in 1984, yes.

So what sort of drinks do you chaps generally take down, anyway?
And on a slightly related note, why doesn't someone come up with a shot and name it after a Transformer?

I may never have stepped into the UK once in my life but I had the impression that the Thames used to have that function...

The operative phrase there being "used to".
Nowadays, you'd probably get arrested. And this was broad daylight on a summer's day.
Also, I find my intelligence normally precludes me from such unsanitary behaviour in the given environment.
3 hours in the suck, however, and it'd be "eat acid death you scum-sucking leeches."

What is it that makes the Thames so brown? The sewers were rerouted in the 1870s or something. Yet it still looks like a Frappuccino.

Metal Vendetta is gone again!
Does anyone know how I can contact him? Does his email addy work (his site doesn't seem to work, does that mean his email is down as well)?
Or if somebody could just tell him that I've sent him a Pm here on the board.
Can't believe I'm still here.

It's all in the application of said intelligence. This one time, I had to climb down a slope and into a dried-up canal that ran under the main road just for a wee. Only way for anyone to see is to climb down there as well.
Upon hindsight I probably should have looked overhead for grates.

Oooh. You're probably right.
I sent him a PM on the 18:th, and the festival started the 22:d, so I probably missed him. Bah.
