If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

No reason to assume a physicist won't know anything about biology. He also describes the symbiote specimen in geological terminology.
And he is missing his arm. This was established in the second film, so no reason for them to have suddenly made him grow it back. It was probably the camera angles.

He was missing the arm? :shock: I can't believe I have missed it. I must rewatch that scene.
I read it on Wikipedia that Stan Lee would really like to have the Lizard to appear in 4 and the actor playing Connors already agreed to play the role.
