Manchester United - Roma.

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Ok, at half time I was gonna start a thread via my wap phone, but thought better of it, in case I somehow ****** everything up.

But OMG, United were just simply amazing, Roma are not a **** side and i was expecting a ******* hard game tonight and to be honest, I was prepared for united going out, what with thier **** ablity to beat Porstmouth pirates...

Ronaldo, [composite word including 'f*ck'] man, if he doesnt win player of the year then there is somthing wrong in the world, he used to be a one trick pony, who didnt pass but this season,, hes just done it all.

I am buzzing!, and i think im allowed to bask in my teams glory. They were simply amazing...

and yet can't beat boro from open play...

Roma's defence and keeper were terrible in fairness, but you didn't stop, which i thought you probably would at 4-0 up.

Chelsea game was pretty good as well.

True, same can be said for Chelski and liverpool, they have both slipped up to lower teams in the league but have beaten huge sides in Europe. thats football, united lose to portsmouth, thanks to Rio, and then portsmouth are beaten by watford!
Watford have to play united on saturday, so in theory, they should thrash united... hmm, i dont think it will happen myself.

I dont think Romas defence was cack at all, they have the best defence in Italy, and I think its fairer to say that they just couldnt cope with united. Its not like any of uniteds goals were easy to defend, they were all master class passing moves, or well taken shots.

2nd and 3rd goal (arguably 5th) were both fluid moves with a wee bit of ballbag defending.

The final ball for both goals could (imo should) have been cut out - Ronaldo's flick into Smith's run was a routine cut out... ****** great move up till then and I really thought Ron had gooned it, only to see the last man do a great impression of a flid and miss the ball whilst lose the ability to remain upright. Giggs, cross was also very stopable, the bloke just seemed to over compensate and his momentum took him out of the path of the ball - slim slice of luck for that ball to get to Rooney imo.

If I was the defender that failed to cut out the final ball for both those goals... I'd just have to suck up dogs abuse from all my team mates.

Carrick's were both fookin stupendous though, the jawdee blinder. Much better player then Hargreaves.

I've not seen Rio's OG, which from most accounts was utter ***** by the slow brained wonder. My mate is dyed in the wool West Ham and still thinks Rio is the ****. Personally I think he is a tad overrated and wouldn't have him in my personal England first 11.

ok two of them goals should have been cut out, the defenders tried and missed the ball - now, thats either **** defending or the move was to fast.
I dont think you can take anything away from united.

Rio, hmm, he makes mistakes, at least once per season he makes a mistake that makes him look like a ****. his goal for portsmouth was a pass back to the keeper, but he erm passed it nicely into hiw own net, this was when united were 1-1 and had pompy on the back foot.... gah.

On the other hand, last night he was solid.

Heres some OPTA stats on United and Chelski - interesting to note how J.T doesnt do much in the way of tackling, but then Makalele protects him...

United:

Chelski:

[composite word including 'f*ck'] knows what any of that means.

Oh, and Carrick was classy last night, hes been decent all season, no fuss, gets on with job, takes loads of stick. dont know what he has to do.

Carrick is your major signing for the season and you're having a blinder.

Not as black and white as that but he is chuffing heavily involved in United's upward curve.

I think Roma just got bummed. They dont like it up em, do they, those wops?

But seriously, IMO they couldn't handle the tempo once they were forced to stretch the game early on. Their key players lost their heads and played bolarks. I could literally smell Chivu shitting himself for the duration of the game.

Carrick's early strike shat them up.

This is a great pic:

I thought Fletcher and Smith defending from the front ****** em up, plus, they never got hold of Ronaldo, who is close to genius level right now... shame hes slimy.

I thought Totti kept his head up for the whole game, considering he, and the rest of the team, just got raped.
