Terminator 2

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

T-Infinity?

They're just not even trying anymore, are they?

It's like the Microsoft approach.

"Bill, we can't keep sticking the year at the end of the new O/S! It's boring."
"Okay, so start using random letters. Then, when we've done that - random words! Then make words up!"

Coming soon: Windows Ultimate.
Then, after that: Windows Ultimate and a Bit.
Grrr. Argh.

Wasn't T-Infinity the name of the spidery-type thing from the theme park ride, or something?

Sounds interesting. Though I will not buy any project associated with TeH SOOPaSTAH. I wonder if Furman knows/cares that Lee's involved.

Maybe Pat's wage for the cover is going straight into Furman's pocket.

I was under the impression that it was only an alternate cover that the unfriendly Pat on the back was going to draw..?

I'm thinking about checking it out, since I'm in a bit of a T-frenzy now, with playing the T2 arcade game. ( Bloody difficult to get working on Mame tho... )

the fact that PL still gets work kinda supports Skynet's 'kill all humans' tac really doesn't it?

not sure i understand the rationale of killing all terminators in the past bit.

When's T4 out anyway?

Isn't the idea simply the same as SkyNets about killing John Connor, but in reverse? It seems rather logical, weaken them when they are less powerfull and perhaps when the Skynet is still young and vulnerable. (Maybe they intend to reprogram him a bit? That would allow them to live in peace with a few machines in the future, and also give them the ability to actually go back in time and do it.)

From what I can gather from the inferences and dismissal of obvious wrong words, Pred's basic theory is to do Terminator trilogy meets Matrix trilogy.

I doubt there'd be a T-800 with a flower in his Uzi 9mm, though.

Oh, sorry, you wanted a non-gibberish crack at the series?

if u kill the arnie model, before he is sent to kill J.conner, than u can send another mission, perhaps a T-1000 model, not faced against arnie, erm later in the future?

Hmm but this suggests that skynet is aware of the changes being made to the timeline by themselves, and for that, skynet would have to exist outside of time, so. erm, [composite word including 'f*ck'] my theroy... sorry, gibberish prevails..

If Skynet kill all the Ts that help John.

Well then John is pretty much dead.

But that wouldnt mean that Skynet by being aware of the failure is sending a Terminator before Arnie s T2 arrival? Or impending him to arrive at the first place?. Or killing him right before meeting John?

If its the first then John is dead and Arnie is still around

If the second is right wouldnt it develop an alternate timeline?

If its the third wouldnt Arnie find a way to reach John either way and alter the timeline? If he cant wouldnt it mean yet another alternate timeline?

any possible awareness sky net has of its "future past" is destroyed at the end of t-2 when all future tech is smelted.

the stuff in t-3 is human developed and so cannot contain any fragments of memory or info from the future except that which came with the t-x, which wouldn't know about the previous terminators as that timeline was derailed, even if a very similar one went on to develop.

the only person who knows the whole picture is Jon.

hmm, in fairness just writing this is doing my head in.

I think it would have been great if the Tx and Arnie just ****** non stop in T3.

Imagine that, robot genders and robots *******.

That's a smashing idea, I think it should make up the backbone of my comic franchise.

Hell, I'm so clever, and its business decisions like that that make me the big cheese of my own company that will never fold, whilst still owing my creative team a truck of cash.

As revealed in The Terminator, they didn't know that much about Sarah Connor, not even her full name - hence the "alphabet killer" approach.

Finding John Connor in T2 was easier, as he was John Connor, son of Sarah Connor.

As to the availability of future knowledge, although all future tech is smelted, and Cyberdyne & Dyson's data physically destroyed, it is possible that during the Connors' stint down Mexico way, the T-1000 would have been able to fabricate some kind of an insurance policy, might even have been a secondary objective for it, while it waited for anything that appeared Connor-related to occur.

The T-800 pretty much said that it was at least as smart as he was, due to it being aware of what he might do next.

All pure speculation due to none of it being filmed, however. ;)

What isn't speculation, though, is why the T-850 was designed to look like the T-800s of the previous 2 films, as it tells Connor it was due to Connor's familiarity with him (black and white photos from a shoot-out in a police station in 1984, and colour photos from a shoot-out in a mall in the early 1990s - evidence in investigations into the Connors activities), a weakness that allowed it to kill him.

Although why Connor was surprised when he learned it didn't remember him due to not being "Uncle Bob" seemed a bit weak. He was there when his mother helped him self-terminate. :uhh:

And anybody he tells (who don't respond with "that's crazy! you're crazy! he's a crazy person, everybody!")

I try not to give the Terminator timeline much thought at all, tbh, as even the notion of it all gives me a headache. At least the whole Time Wars thing can be quickly resolved with "it's bobbins"...

Then we will end in an alt reality in which Skynet is really Reese brain in a windows vista pc trying to get revenge of Sarah.

Either way, There are plans for T4, right? There must find a "reasonable" explanation to have Arnie (if he is in) as a t850 of like 60 years old.
