Hi chaps. My band have recorded two new songs and it'd be nice to hear some reactions (whether cruel or kind).
They can be found here:
http://myspace.com/strafetheband
...and the new 'uns are called 'Nu Star' and 'Parallel Lives'.
They ended up sounding a bit too commercial for my tastes, but there ya go.
I be the one singing.

I like your singing

The songs are very listenable and musically competant and the lyrics sound pretty good too
I see what you mean about 'commercial'... your sound on those tracks does sound a bit samey to lots of other bands floating around atm, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Sounds very Bowiesque - not that it's a bad thing, mind. Only listening to Nu Star at the moment though...
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Has Strafe ever appeared on The Download? Or are you too well-known? Or would that seem too presumptuous? And is the initial question too obvious/well-trodden?

Listened to it.
Very David Bowie-ish, could fit very well in a sequel to the Labyrinth.
And as good as a lot of the stuff out there right now, as a matter of fact.
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

I liked it, Spidey. The melodies and guitar work do seem a bit done, but not in a bad way. And that Bowieesque singing makes it unique. Celebrate your accent, ya bugger coz punter footy mad brilliant bloke.

Yeah, I have to agree..a bit commerical, not necessarily bad, but the main point is, your awesome voice carries it.

Just requested Sprunk as a myspace friend! And Shanti... whats your myspace address?
Never liked my voice much. Too 'pop', not enough 'rock'.

OKCupid worked wonders for my housemate this year. Then again she's like, tall and blonde and sexy. She even knew a member of this site through it - he came to one of our parties and they had friends in common. So that would be my tip for London dating sites.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

If it works for Zane Lowe...
Just listened to Nu Star. 's all good.

Disappointed by the lack of death metal breakdown before the last verse, though.

Intro was a bit Bloc Party ish. Which is a good thing.
Parallel Lives starting at the mo. Shades of Suede. Good stuff.
