The fourth tremor in a month in lima

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

The fourth tremor in a month in lima

Post by The Last Autobot » Thu Oct 26, 2006 10:59 pm

A few minutes ago there has been a tremor here (the fourth in a month).

If Lima opens up and ends in a hole just light a candle and say a prayer.

Strange, I dont remember - ever- that we had so many tremors in so short time.

Given the destructive boundary between the Nazca and South American plates and Lima's proximity to the Andes, I'd be more surprised that tremors aren't a more common occurance.

It's probably nothing major to worry about, given the comparatively slow and almost head-on convergence of the plates. More likely to be something like a side-effect of the Nazca plate asserting itself against the Pacific plate rather than the warning signs of any sort of catastrophic event.

Saying that, it might be an idea to keep an eye on recent and current coastal water levels. Just in case.

Keep some supplies and keep your eyes open.

If they send any aid you might see some Singaporeans flying in.
