I was just watching the Iranian nut job president on TV - The concept of him nuking Israel seems an odd one really.
The palstinian ppl want thier land back but if Israel was nuked then due to the fall out no one could live there for thousands of years - perhaps it would finnaly sort out the problem.

Ok, well Iran wants the ppl of Israel to leave Israel? and they have threaterned to do this by nuke'ing Israel off the face of the earth.
Now, they are doing tis in support of palestine but if they were to drop the bomb then ppl of palestine wouldnt be able to reclaim the land they think is theres because it will be covered in radioactive waste.
It would end this ancient conflict in one sense as no one could have the land but I dont think Palistine would be to happy with Iran.

I think a real idea would be making Jeruselem an international city.
Seriously though, our evangelical Christians (say, our Prez) LOVE Jews in the Holy Lands, because that's the way it's supposed to be during Revelations, so they want to make sure the table's set for the Rapture. And of course, Jews loves Jews in the Holy Lands. So if you were to make that place a nuclear winter, they'd be super bummed.

And probably end up being Left Below.
Attrition is very useful in settling disputes. It's what ultimately defeated the Germans in WWI, not superior manpower or weaponry. It's what made the Gulf wars so comparatively swift, air/sea superiority resulting in denial of enemy deployment.
Of course, a radioactive Holy Land would bring a whole new dimension to testing one's faith through pilgrimage.
Making Jerusalem an international city might help, just as it has helped Antarctica, but this could spark a precedent where any location of quasi-religious significance petitions for internationalisation and where would we be then?
As an aside, relocating the UN HQ from New York to an internationalised location would probably be beneficial in the long term.
