Battlestar Galactica season 3 [mit spoilers]

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

There was a good link on Youtube that seems to have gone, which had the whole scene the sound was garbage though. Basically its Roslin talking to Caprica 6 getting her to be a witness in the trial against Baltar.

"How do I know you won't just put me out the airlock?"
"You have my word, you won't be airlocked."
"The same word you gave to Leoben? Yes, he told us about that."

And then she agrees, if Baltar is given a fair trial.

Any thoughts on when the DVDs might be released?

They are not doing a split season DVD this time so just like us Europeans the Americans will be getting a full season DVD. Therefore about 2.5 - 3 months I would imagine. The UK one might be a month or two more because Sky is only on about episode 4 so far.

The Woman King is poor. Not as poor as Black Market, but so very close.

Apparantly the reason this season is of such mixed quality is that they managed to heavily overshoot just about all the episodes by a a good 5-10 minuites. Basically all episodes should be like the DVD version of Pegasus. This is also why virtually every episode on the 'previously on BSG' part you get a scene that hasn't been shown before because it was cut.

Judging by the spoilers the next 2 eps are a bit poor also:( The last 4 eps sound like they'll be good though.

Woman King was worst of the season so far IMO. Not bad, just a bit pointless.

Not a big Helo fan myself. I was glad he stopped the Cylon genocide thing tho.

2 more episodes have gone since my last post the first one was likle far too many eps this season average, some moments excellent others pure scrotum. Last nights however, despite looking arse in the preview I really enjoyed I feel they actually managed to pull off the chiefs mutiny and getting away with it. The last 4 episodes are supposed to be the big ones for this season especially the next one Maelstrom.

Sprunker season 3 is a bit hit and miss it starts well then go's very average with moments of poo it is starting to pick up.

I've enjoyed Season 3 on the whole. Not any worse than the second half of Season 2 IMO.

Enjoyed the Mutiny episode, though Roslin and Adama have been testing my patience of late.

Maelstorm was sloowww amd therefore quite dull. Despite the fact that Starbuck is not in any more episodes and is to be written out of the opening credits i don't believe for an instant she's properly dead there is no way they would get rid of one of their main characters in this way surely?

It's been hinted for awhile that a lead character is to go, but I agree it's a strange way to do it. Why not let her go in a blaze of glory in the season finale?

Maybe she'll be back next season as a cylon....

Was impressed by Katie's acting in this, but glad to see we've got some plot progression next week with the trial...

Ooh! Ooh! Can we assume that the final five Cylons are starting getting revealed and Anders, Tigh and Tory are three of them, or is my guess really off?

I was right. :o And it was awesome when they said: "screw that, we have our lives".

Overall, this episode was fantastic.

I'm slow. Just caught up.

That was awesome.

Tigh made no sense in an absolutely superb way. Tirrol is logical, as it's been a plot element for ages. Sam was a coincidence too far, though.

Love their reaction though - "hell with it, if we've been Cylons all along we can just carry on with what we've been doing."

And it was blatantly Kara from the moment she cropped up on Lee's scanner.

LOVE.

Well, it's official: BSG to end after Season 4.

And I can't believe they had to fight to even get a fourth season.

Better to go out on a high. It's not the kind of story you can drag out forever.

Producers of 'Lost' take note.

Moore has the whole stuff planned already. It's just depends on how many episodes series gets, there will be more character-pieces-filler type episodes or less. If he had to, he would probably done it all in the third season.

Writers of Lost claim the same and I heard them said that they had planned the story for three more seasons.

22 eps apparently.

Lost is more of a worldwide phenomenon. They'll make it as long as ABC want them to make it.

20, technically. Plus a double-length feature focussing on t'Pegasus. Yay.

I think season 3 proved that the series has trouble sustaining itself over 20 episodes. They blamed the dip in season 2 on rushed production schedules and said that better planning and different approaches would mean it didn't happen again.

Okay, maybe the quality didn't drop to the same extent, but it was certainly dragged out a little bit in the middle. Dropping back to about 13 episodes would tighten it the hell up. Season 1 was all killer.

I just finished my (scandalously vanilla) DVDs and must correct this statement. On reflection, their subconscious programming would make them all infiltratey and survivaly... and given the size of the fleet and their doubtless intent to obtain high-power positions, it's plausible.

And does this mean little baby Nicky is half Cylon?

Without me checking - the flashbacks from early season 2... did they show Tigh in the first war, or is it all his word?

Oh - and the Cally shooting thing does make sense. The gunshots whilst she's running are from the ambushed rendezvous nearby. Yay. :)

Season 4 owes me lots of ******* answers... and it better not [composite word including 'f*ck'] them up.

I think the writers take lots of drugs before writing each season finale.

Season 4's the last. :( And that one off movie (Razor, is it?) when's that out?

I think Razor's out later this year.

There's some gubbins on the Wiki entry about season 4 being 10 episodes in March, with the remaining 10 eps in March 09. Which sounds utter bollocks.
