Battlestar Galactica season 3 [mit spoilers]

RDM gives an explanation about the whole incident in his latest podcast, but I agree it is silly in whatever tv program, comic, novel series it happens.

On a different note without wanting to clog up the forum with BSG posts what is your favourite epsiode so far, I expect many of you will say Downloaded or Pegasus, but I'm going for one of the season 1 eps Hand of God. It had an excellent space battle fantastic interaction between the adamas and some of the best Baltar scenes.

The single episode that comes most to mind is Pegasus, but the run of eps from the end of season 1 through the start of season 2 remain the pinnacle for me.

Wow, waiting a week between episodes is really hard going!

Exodus Pt 2 BIG spoilers below....

It was great.

I was slightly worried after the poor first scene but everything else was tremendous: Ellen's death, Galactica emerging through the clouds, the end of Pegasus, the twist with Starbuck's kid, all brilliant stuff.

Preceding this episode on its US transmission was Doctor Who 'The Girl in the Fireplace'. What a great night for scifi fans.

Good stuff.

Casey had a good resolution. I was slightly muddled as to quite why everybody was making a fuss of Hera if they'd managed to cobble together said brat.

The stuff with Ellen was great. Tigh was superb throughout.

Does this mean Adama ain't an admiral no more? :o

Really enjoyed 'Collaborators' and 'Torn'.

Starting to feel very sorry for Tigh.

So did we meet an 8th Cylon model in the latest ep?

Quickie question: how many copies of each Cylon are there? I used to think there was a limited number, but now I get the impression they're endless.

I don't think the hybrid counts... if it does, I think we'd also have to count the raiders and centurions.

I think it's endless copies of the 12 basic designs. Just going off the shots in Resurrection Ship. All comes down to how many they can manufacture.

Good stuff throughout. Tigh is just angstatically brilliant at the moment. In a tragic way, of course. I used to hate the character, but right now - proper empathy.

The whole thing's just gonna end with the Cylon and human descendants settling on the Earth, thus making a start of the new civilization, which few thousand later will develop a made-for-TV science-fiction drama, right? :o

I'm left wondering if this notion of the "final five who we don't talk about" was always intended, or a result of them realising "uhm... right, we did a full scale occupation and never showed more than seven models... how we gonna explain that, then?"

A Measure of Salvation was another cracking episode. Pretty emotional.

Roslin used to be one of my fave characters, now I think she's a real cold bitch. ;)

Loved the moral ambiguity. I have to say I was not on the fleet's side on this one.

And Baltar having a threesome with Xena and Six. Bastard!

Tell me about it! Lucky man.

Its going from strength to strength at the moment. This season Tigh's gone up so much in my estimation.

Have they buggered the timeline up a bit with the new flashbacks?

Not sure.

I got the impression that Galactica had never been networked because Adama had always been in command of it... it's possible that he had it retrofitted after being transferred from the Valkerie...

Other than that, I don't see much of a problem...

I've finally managed to sort out my download/internet problems, thanks for the help guys......

Anyway if anyone wants to watch BSG without downloading www.TV-links.co.uk is the place to go for streaming, just go find BSG amongst all the other stuff. Its all good quality from the other programs I've sampled.

That last episode now correct me if i'm wrong, but when 3 dies and is that Cathedral place and there are those glowing people are there 5 of them say the 5 missing cylons who the other other 7 cannot visualise think about until they are revealed.

The big flashback episode actually works, was better than the previous few episodes which were a bit season 2.5 if you know what I mean. The boxing actually works really well although having another poor Adama speech is not welcome thankfully with him making the speech he doesn't do his clapping routine.

If the Kara Thrace is the big death we're expecteing later this season as many have speculated then it is totally the right choice she is absolutely loathsome now and when is Lee going to get a story that doesn't totally emasculate him.

Tigh and Ellen are so cute together in this as is Cally. In fact with the exception of Starbuck (Toxic), Lee and a little bit Daddy Adama everyone comes off well...oh not Hot Dog either on the grounds that he is woefully weak.

The podcast was good for this ep as well for showing just how out of touch with the people who watch the show really think. In the last one it was that he thought people wouldn't want to see Helo punished..wrong everybody no matter what they think about the morality of genocide says he should be. Then for this episode he says at the end that Starbuck is redeemed (his own wife who does the podcast with him while drinking whiskey sums up the audiences views with a "no she isn't")

I agree Lee's getting a raw deal, and Kara's not coming off very well. Cally looked very cute. Did Adama and Roslin have a thing? Or just a moment?

I saw Baltar in the clips at the start (previewing the episode) but didn't see him in any scenes? Have I missed a bit?

You can see him in 1 or 2 scenes when he gives a speech about new Caprica.

The last 4 episodes have had large amounts chopped out such as when they captured those infected Cylons Starbuck spends about 5 minutes torturing the Leoben model again and loads of Baltar stuff has been cut, it will probably make the DVD's just like the proper version of Pegasus.

No one knows if Roslin and Adama have actually done anything but that ship is now well and truly sailing.

The Galactica Station website with its Ragnar Anchorage forum is an excellent source of info for this series.

Next epsidoe (The Passage) apparantly is Kat centric and we'll find out a lot about her background in people/drug smuggling and stuff which makes me think could she have smuggled some of the human model cylons into the colonies?

The Passage was excellent, good acting, nice effects in the Nebula and Kat's death was truly moving she died a hero. Starbuck was as usual a complete bint and blatently drove kat to sacrifice herself nice one Thrace.

Favourite moments were Tigh going back into CIC and everyone except Gaeta applauding and the obvious mixing of Galactica/Pegasus crews ie Hoshi in CIC and on the pilots rosterboard the likes of Showboat and Stinger being mentioned.

Wahey. We're back.

Awesomey. :)

My gut reaction to D'Anna seeing the final five was that one of them was Gaeta... then there's the bit with him and Baltar. Whadda we reckon?

Evil Boomer! Good to have Baltar back on the Galactica... never really seemed to be going anywhere with him on the base star. Lucky that Athena was resurrected on the right ship, innit?

I've missed this program. :)

My reaction was: "Damn, they didn't let us see them". :o

Which bit? Their talk in the newest ep?

Galtar on Galactica is gonna be even cooler when they put him on a public trial.

The word is that we will definitly be finding out who at least 1 of the final 5 is this series, I've even heard talk that we'll know 4 of them and that infamous half season trailor pretty much guarantees that one is definitly in the fleet. Also we've still got a major death to come so again the trailer highlighted 3 individuals one of whom is known to not be in the last 3 episodes.

I really liked the last episode it was directed by Daddy Adama himself, could have done with the bonus scene with Caprica 6 been put back in the middle instead of tagged on at the end as an extra.

Yeah, that was a bit silly. "Here's something that we could have fit into the actual episode, but we're going to show it here instead!"

I mean... hwa? Why not have a shorter "previously"? Or one less advert during the break?

Hmmm, I didn't catch the bonus scene either. Was it important? Anyone got a link?

Loved the episode. Feel sorry for Baltar. D'anna (sp?) went out in a cool way. Annoyingly predictable that we didn't get to see what she saw. I blame 'Lost' and how they do things...
