When I was younger whenever we had mice sneak in my mother used to get me to catch it and carry it out, because I was the one who "caught things". Frogs. Mice. Bugs. Butterflies... I was that sort of kid. Curious about stuff like that. I learned young to let 'em go so they wouldn't die, though. And I was quick, hence the reason I was the one summoned to capture tinyfeeted visitors.
That was when I was a kid, though. I don't know if I'd be able to sit there so calmly now while there was a mouse in the house... I'd be busy thinking about what it might be carrying. Hantavirus, for one. Wouldn't kill it, but I'd try to find a way to get it out of the house without touching it. And I'd make sure all my dry edibles/stuff like bread and whatnot were in containers.

We get mice from time to time (a problem of living near a Pizza Hut!) not normally too much of a problem, can be annoying at times... espcially when they decide to live in your PC tower!

We had a toad come in the back door a few weeks ago.
My sister's dog, on a visit, managed to consume what we think was its mate. So, perhaps it came indoors to investigate the other's disappearance or seek revenge upon the carnivorous dog.
Or maybe he was just tired of boring nights under the caravan and wanted to watch cable with the rest of us.

when I was about 18 - I was walking home from a friends stoned out of my head - i saw an 8 legged green moster on the floor, I freaked out and promptly squashed the alien freak under foot. If this was a landing invasion or a diplomat sent from some ancient space faring race I had either doomed the human race or saved us all! On the basis of a 50/50 chance I felt id won.
That was untill I noticed upon further inspection that the alien was in fact two toads making love on the pavement...

As for the toads, I would have assumed the male toad would have been happier, as being squashed underfoot sounds more preferable to becoming permanently attached to your partner's back and eventually being absorbed as a wart.
Or maybe that's just me.
