If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Watched the GP Masters race.

Was definitely worth sitting in the drizzle for two hours.

Saw lots of action...

Mansell's car breaking down during the warm-up laps, then a couple of times again during the race. He managed 2 laps, only crossed the start/finish line for the first warm-up, tho.

Lots of spins, several crashes into flimsy bollards along side the pit lane, resulting in one crafty driver utilizing a then quicker path to overtake.

The pictures on the site's gallery don't do the actual race highlights justice.

And throughout it all, camera in pocket, I didn't get a single photo/video. D'oh!

Luckily, I'd been given a VIP pass, so I managed such feats as going in the garages, being on the pit wall, having lunch in the same room as the drivers and grid girls, but not seeing Katie Melua on stage.

Unfortunately, I was there with family, so I had to play the respectable person, rather than slavering fanboy, so my camera stayed firmly on the cars.

All in all, a good day out.
