Strangest purchase ever.

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

I have, sitting in my apartment, the following items.

4 The Hobbit (unabridged) on CD.
3 The Fellowship of the Ring (unabridged) on CD.
4 The Two Towers (unabridged) on CD
4 The Return of the King (unabridged) on CD
9 Lord of the Rings Trilogy slipcase editions (unabridged) on cassette.

and, the strangest of the strange...

51 copies of the slipcased hardcover of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Pictures and an explanation to follow.

You mean everything's in audio?

And you got 'em all at the same time?

The Lord of the Rings stuff are audio, the Harry Potter books are those slipcased and shrinkwrapped hardcovers.

If the Lord of the Rings is the BBC Production from the 70's with Michael Hordern as Gandalf, Ian Holme as Frodo, John LeMesurier as Bilbo et al then it is an absolutely excellent purchase

It's a truly brilliant version and well worth anybody's money.

If that's not the version you own- shame on you! Go out and buy it! :)

Individual books on CD and the Trilogy on cassette.

Hmm, I wonder what the differences in the production (not the quality of the media) are.

You're starting your own amazon/play/etc. service, but for a very specific clientéle?
