What's your desktop look like?

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

The official "Karl is bored-" erm, I mean, "Perennial Desktop Thread!" Been a lil' while since we had one, and I'm expecting interesting things from Mark :)

All my desktops in 'browse' mode:

well... _ have a back windows theme, not a skin but an offical one... which matchs all my software which is in black.

and I have rotating screen saver of famke jansen that changes to a new pic every 15 mins...

To be honest ive never been into customising my desktop to much as I never really look at it?

But I always have software running... what I would like is a more interesting user interface like somthing on Linux or a Mac OS or even Vista which looks pretty.

That's a lot of swishy stuff Karly..

I scaled down Win XP to look as simple as possible... :o Like the classic, even removed quite a few effects. I feel that I need every iota of resources to my programs and games.

But here it is. :)

Very true. I found by running a very minimalist desktop however (like Blackbox, which takes up about 2meg) you can really improve program responsiveness (less memory swapping).

Simply put, it's the picture of the wolf that my current avatar is a scaled-down copy of. ;)

My main pc is kept blank, as it facilitates better update times for remoting in.

I got all kinds of junk on it right now. Both on screen AND literally.

All those shortcuts. Who knew PopCap Games could reuse the match-the-colors concept so many times.

I do have sometimes. But they have to share they desktop time with The Authority, Excalibur and the chicks I dig. Which reminds me, I must find a wallpaper with Keira in her "pirate" outfit she wore in Dead Man's Chest.
