The little boss [meaning "the boss just below the actual boss", of course] at my crap job asked me if I'd object to being considered for a promotion "should the oppertunity arise".
Now, it is 5 am here and I just got home from work a half-hour ago, so it may just be my tired head but I'm left wondering... What the hell does that even mean?
Hahahahahaha. I'm thinking of quitting and they want to promote me. Hahahahahaha!... hm.

That's what I thought! But apparently some people are happy just doing what they're doing. They crazy, I hate this job.Best First wrote:why would anyone object to being considered for promotion?
Mind, the step up is Assistant Supervisor, which is a fancy name for "gopher/person who does everything that the Supers don't want to"...
Oh god. Then again, all my friends are there... but still. Oh god.Brendocon wrote:"I'd be admitting that this is what I want to do with my life!"
Half the Supers are dicks! I don't want to be them... aargh.
That's what I was thinking. Play nice, get a promotion, stay for a few months and then I'll have something somewhat shiny to put on a resume when I move on to the company that pays more. Which is what I was going to do at the end of August, but after that bit, well...spiderfrommars wrote:Let 'em promote you. If it's **** you can still leave!

Sounds like a good plan.saysadie wrote:That's what I was thinking. I've been promoted.
Sort of... two month trial period before my pay raise kicks in, which is a pain in the ass and not to mention ******** asides. They apparently "need to see if I can handle the position", which makes sense in a way as it involves dealing with unhappy customers. And trust me, people can get really ******* bitchy.
But I think it's coming about because one of my friends is leaving. This makes me
