I love My Hero, Everlong, Monkey Wrench, All My Life and D.O.A... but other than that I find the Foo Fighters to be really boring.
Babyshambles - Delivery is where it's at!
Amazing song. I've preordered the new album, booya!

Yep. I think Colour and the Shape is a great album through and through, but most of their other stuff is, as you say, paint-by-numbers. In Your Honour was okay, mostly redeemed by the dreamy quality of the second CD. The songs on Nothing Left To Lose were ambitious but too long. The self-titled feels too generic early 90s. And other than the greatness that was All My Life, One by One is utter crap.
Skin and Bones was the most interesting thing they've done in a while.
I'm hoping the new album will be able to pull out some of the CatS passion with the same producer, and the same variety. That album was such a good combination of soft and loud, of good filler and great single... gah, I could go on forever about it.
In other news, I've listened to bootlegged YouTube videos of all Radiohead's new songs at least a thousand times. They've finished the album. When the hell will they decide on a label and release the bloody thing?

Everybody's entitled to thier opinion, but Staind? No offense meant, but I can't get through even one of thier songs without feeling sleepy. My top three bands:
Bad Religion(obviously)
Dead Kennedys(Jello era)
Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band
If you've never heard of Captain Beefheart, check out Beefheart.com, he was an amazing musician and an interesting guy.

Wow, this thread was dead for a year?
Hmmm.....haven't been listening to much music outside of Rock Band....
Oh yeah...I heard some sort of talk about this new Oasis album being their best thing in 10 years. Is that actually true?

And even that wasn't particularly good.
My favourite albums this year, in no particular order:
Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip "Angles"
The Gaslight Anthem "The 59 Sound"
Bloc Party "Intimacy"
MGMT "Oracular Spectacular"
Last Shadow Puppets "Age of the Understatement"
Honourable mentions for Ladyhawke (for being the new CSS) the Killers (for an admirable attempt at a collection of songs that grow on you to the point of aceness but fail to form a cohesive album, ergo just being a bit boring), Kings of Leon (who'd be #6 on the list), Coldplay (for not being as rubbish as I'd expected), and Kaiser Chiefs (for managing an album twice as good as their previous one, but still godawful - gotta respect that sort of talent).
And also to Primal Scream, for being THE LOUDEST band I've ever encountered live. Accelerator nearly tore me to shreds.
Can [composite word including 'f*ck'] off: Razorlight.

Gaslight isnt bad, sounds a little too like The Killers for my tastes, and I cant stand The Killers.
The Airborne Toxic Event have to make my top list. Sounds like old Social D.
Another band I highly recommend is Lucero. Not the mexican band, but the american red-dirt style band. Amazing stuff, good to have a drink to.
Shinedown continues to impress, love their new album. Nothing else too overly impressive as far as new albums. The Offsprings' Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace was nice, took me back to their 'punkier' stuff.
Still waiting for Breaking Benjamin to put out a new album as well as Brand New. Also have high hopes that Eve 6 will throw out something new, the world needs new Eve 6.

That's totally funny, becuase this one time, I graduated from high school and got arrested for smoking weed (and became an Eagle Scout) ALL in the same month, but I was basically grounded for the summer, and I sat around and listened to the first Eve 6 album (which was totally bad ass, and I was ALL OVER the "Inside Out" single from before it even because popular) and the first Third Eye Blind album, which also grew on you like a symbiotic organism that at first gives your super powers but then drains your will to live.
I never bought another album from either of them, though. Ah, good times.
And you know what? That's not even my most embaressing music owning memory. That would probably be a tie between those nights I spend playing Civilization on my SNES while listening to the first Jewel's "Pieces of You," and those nights I spent playing Mario Golf while listening to Britney's immortal first two CDs of which I knew all the words to.
I'm banned, aren't I?
