Yes, I think I have a few viruses. And it wouldn't surprise me, since the files in question are 3'rd party "game-fixes". Oddly enough, when scanning with my Antivirus Avast, ( up to date naturally) it can't find any infections.
I've tried going into fail-safe mode deleting them, but not even that works.
EDIT: YAY! I used PocketKillbox to delete two of them! Only there's a few left... I'm going to try the "Delete at Startup" option, but I'm vary if it will actually work.

An antivirus is no substitute for sensible computer practice- many malicious programs (or dubious or perhaps a better word) will not be caught by an antivirus or malware scanner and sometimes must be googled in order to find removal strategies.
Always make sure you know what you are doing when you download something and that you have reasonable means to trust the source. Also ensure you create a standard privellige user account for 'testing' such files to ensure any villainy they contain will not be automatically able to spread with fully administration privelliges throughout your system and make themselves extraordinarily difficult to remove.

Hmm, that IS rather clever Karl, but perhaps a bit out of my limited domain. In theory I suppose it would be sensible to have one account with all the games and various shady downloaded files, and another for the one where I do my graphical and school-work and such.
Aside from the Antivirus wich I most often scan all my dled files with, I of course have me trusty Sygate Firewall ( about that, what do you recommend in it's place? Because it has recently become discontinued) and the nifty little Spybot seek and destroy.
But as you said, sometimes things slip by now and then.
BUT: there is now another more pressing concern... My Netscape 8.0 has just stopped working. Completely. It goes past the load-screen and the program windows comes up, and then it freezes. It's gotten so bad that I'm reporting from within Internet Explorer currently...
EDIT: Here's a topic about the exact same thing that I'm experiencing. Must read closely.

YES!! I think I've found a source of cosmic energy!!
http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/
This freeware program is designed to annihilate such pests as this blob of ironworks, and it worked for this other guy with the exact same problem!
I must try it... stay tuned...
EDIT: YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! This Unlocker program has cosmic powers!! It did it... not even pocketkillbox could do it, or failsafe mode, but unlocker somehow did it.. I have no idea how this little thing works, but apparently it can somehow circumwent the OS *LIVE* while it's running, and annihilate the evil.
I dearly recommend it to ALL of you, it's so cool, so fast so simple. Freeware rocks, don't let any Microsoft-representatives try and tell you otherwise, because they don't know jack-sh*t.
EDIT2: Guys... Guess what? Netscape is functional again, just like magic. Once I had killed the evil, it's suddenly a 100% operational again. Ah... it feels so GOOD! To be back on a real browser again.
I'd also like to say thanks to Karl and Laser Rod, great advice, and you've given me something to think about. Cheers lads.

Try Nod32. I use it since 2005 early and had no viruses since then... and I'm hanging on the net all day as you can see. Sometimes it cannot delete files, but it puts them in quarantine meaning they can't do a thing.
