So what does everyone think so far? I'm liking it a lot. Frontline too. Although it's barely got going.
The idea of Peter Parker revealing his secret identity makes my head spin. I don't know how you go about putting that genie back in the bottle afterwards. And then, when they asked Joe Q about what's going on in CW in reference to his recent comments on the marriage, he said that he doesn't bring up things without reason, which makes me seriously worried.
But being seriously worried about serious implications is kinda good, right? That's drama.

There was nothing I said that hadn't been covered in the last ASM. Whether or not Spider Man reveals is speculation on my part, hence no spoilder.
But for those of us TPB inclined, or behind in the distribution, apologies.
I too, am muchos excited about Wednesday. I'm still buying 52, but I don't think I liked Countdown/Crisis/OYL as much as I'm liking this.
Now that we've got the spoiler warning in the topic, I might as well throw this one out....
A hypothesis of what might occur from a newsarama poster.........
Last chance, don't look.......

Now doesn't that sound like a neat litle bow? Admittedly, it's a bit too cookie cutterish after what Wanda pulled in HoM, but I definitely think that secret identities is the other genie Joe wants back in the bottle, and I love the idea of MJ, Aunt May, and Norman Osborn all not knowing who Spider Man is. And you get to dissolve the marriage w/o a divorce or death. If you're into that kinda thing.I'm not sure if anyone brought this up, but there's probably a "solution" to having Spider-Man unmasking on live TV. At the end of Civil War, Doctor Strange ends up removing any and all knowledge of any heroes secret identities should they choose to do so, so that not only will the S.H.I.E.L.D. files no longer exist but none of the other heroes knows each others identities either. (That's because I believe one of the "genies" Joe Q wants put back is that besides the public having some distrust towards certain Marvel heroes, the heroes themselves don't really trust each other, and besides the events of Civil War, removing knowlegde of various heroes secret identities cements that.) Of course, Spidey says yes.
However, because his reveal was so public, not only does everyone no longer know he's really Spider-Man, but neither do Aunt May or Mary Jane. What's more, besides any video footage and any written articles from the press conference being erased, all documentation and memory of Peter's marriage to Mary Jane is gone as well (thus dissolving the marriage without having to kill off MJ or have Peter and her divorce. Also I'm one of those people who DOES NOT want the marriage dissolved but it seems we're heading that way). Peter, since the spell doesn't effect him, remembers all of this, and so he's conflicted about whether or not he should try to let MJ know his secret, not wanting to put her in danger ever again. Of course, MJ has occassional flashes of her knowing Peter is Spider-Man through dreams and nightmares, but they seem too fuzzy.
Also, Norman Osborn is affected, too, and what's more, just like what happened to him orginally way back in Amazing Spider-Man #40, he doesn't remember ever being the Green Goblin, meaning he forgets everything from ASM #121 onward. This gives him a break as a villain for awhile, until the Goblin eventually rises to the surface.

I Really, really dont like solutions involving mass memory loss or things like that. I think in general its like pressing the Rew button in a story or saying that your actions dont matter.

Seconded on the JJJ. Any comic fan worth his salt had to at least grunt out a chuckle seeing that. I still can't look at it w/o it bringing a smile to my face.
Only thing that would've made it better? Robbie: "Told you so, bitch."

I can't WAIT for the next issue of ASM. Or Frontline. Or Civil War. MAN! I really like comics again!
Though I think I might stop collecting shortly after Civil War concludes. I just don't think that there's going to be anything this cool again for a very long time.

Tbh, that's exactly what I'm looking forward to. That's the question I've wanted answered since I started reading Spidey 15 years ago. What would Jameson say?KingMob wrote:
Yeah Prof, I totally need the next part, like right now also. Even just to see what Jonah actually says...y'know, once they re-start his heart.

I even bought Thunderbolts, just to get more CW fix. And even THAT has a major development in relation to "What's up with all the villans?"
