If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Apologies for the title...
I sincerely doubt this poll will capture the imagination of the board but I'm gonna ask anyway...
Moving into my new flat in the next couple of days (batchelor pad - yay
![Neutral :|](images/smilies/icon_neutral.gif)
). Didn't have the heart to give away the two cats, so I've kept them.
Now sticking a cat flap in the door will be way expensive so I'm thinking of putting a cat flap in one of the windows.
So..
Living room window? Front of house, could look tacky.
Bedroom window? What if they bring dead things into my room? Yuck.
Kitchen window? It's above the sink, unhygenic?
HELP.

I'd say bedroom or kitchen (if you clean your sink regularly).
Congrats on the new flat!
And on the cats. I love cats.

Definitely not in the kitchen, I voted bedroom window. Made the most sense to me, they can come in at night and go snuggle up at your feat.

i'm guessing you've got yourself a ground floor flat then?
i'd say kitchen, dunno why... definitely not the bedroom tho as it could be noisy whilst trying to sleep (and drafty in winter).

Bear in mind that the cats aren't going to get any younger... and you'll get other animals coming through regardless...

But would you really want the cat bringing dead things into your bathroom whilst you're in the bath or on the loo?

I was most distressed to see a topic entitled Pussy Flaps and it not be from Snarl.
However, 2 points for cleverness.

The title sounds dirty. I like it!
Er, I'm in the "wouldn't put a cat-flap in" group. Mainly because it sounds horribly insecure, for one, and the thought of having other animals showing up at random is offputting. Plus I don't like the thought of letting cats out in general... safety of animals/consideration for neighbours/other animals and whatnot. But it's hard to keep a cat from doing what it's used to- maybe let 'em out in the daytime and let 'em back in at night?

Damnit, I just can't decide! And the security issue is one that slightly bothered me.
I'm thinking either don't have one now or go with living room... the front window has a side bit that would be discreetish.
Crap.

You can get cat flaps that only your cat can get through - you put an electronic device round your cat's collar and only an animal wearing that device can actually get through. They're more expensive than normal cat flaps, but probably worth it. Having said that, if you're in a flat, the risk of other animals coming in is much reduced.

Other cats tend not to go through cat flaps cause of the scent of the cats.
That special collar sounds nifty tho.
I've called up, replacing the pane will cost £102.

my cat just uses her phase ablity - all good cats can perform phasing.
example:01
Thats not a hole in the celling but in fact time and space being torn apart by 'pussy and phasing' or PAP as its known in the cat the world...
