He did just about nothing, was out of position - essentially looked like someone who hasnt played football in the premm. oh yeah... he hasnt.
Its all very nice saying - "oh thats a nice touch" and stuff but this International Football not training matchs.
Christ I prefer Crouch with that special dance he did.

I would love to see a 16 year old do well for england because thats where my heart is for every englang game.
But i just cant see the how walcott can get the nod ahead of any premiership player, having not performed in the premier league. Its just plain crazy, the lad was clearly out of his league. Can you imagine what its going to be like against the likes of italy or argantina for instance...

I kept a close eye on him from the moment he came on - he just seemed to float about, didnt really know where he should be, never tracked back and when he did he got in the way of another CM leaving them with no passing options.
He might have some talent but he looked like somoene who didnt know the game, didnt know his postional play etc... imagine him against an experienced defence they would pull him all over the place.

I don't think it really matters who gets picked for the team. England will finish second in their group to Sweden. Germany will win their group. Germany will beat England in Munich, probably on penalties, and it will all be over before the end of June.

I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Must admit I'm losing my faith in Hargreaves, he finally gets a chance to play in his favourite position and balls it up. This was probably his only chance if you are not a media darling then you only get the one chance hence why Carrick was dropped after his poor performance against Belarus.
Also I'm really dissapointed with Ian Wright I normally really enjoy his punditry with rampant patriotism, optimisim etc but today he was just a prat. 'Oh lets cheat cause everyone else will be' and when he attacked Hargreaves at the end he got very personel in his attacks which is bang out of order especially when despite not being a stellar player hargreaves has achieved more in his career. is he still pissed off that his boy Shaun didn't make the squad?

Ian Write is a sh*t pundit, all he does is spout myopic crap and his analysis gets about as complex as 'the boy done good'.
Hargreaves is a bigger problem than Wlacott, we can score goals from other parts of the park but the notion that Hargreaves is going to offerthe defence some cover against decent teams is laughable. How come the one person yet to be tried in that position is Carrick? Rubbish.
Not to say that Walcott isn't an issue, he did rod.
Hpefully they will see that leaving rooney behind is the sensible thing and Defoe will get in the squad.
I like when Crouch scores, its like seeing a special kid win a medal.

I've got no problems with Crouch.
Owen is class - but right now I'd sooner have Crouch start. his touch is better then Owen's is, whether Owen is fit or not. Crouch's technique is pretty good, Owen actually has quite a cock first touch.
He can win the aerial stuff all day and retains possession really well, he'd link well with Lampard, in a similar way to Drogba does at Chelsea. Gerrard then has licence to roam, Carrick can hold.
If we have no Rooney I'd be strongly tempted to drop Owen and play Crouch - This would allow England to Play Lampard, Gerrard and Carrick all in the same role they have played so well this season for their clubs.
And I think getting the most out of them will help England more then getting the most out of Owen.
But Sven is a ****.

Yesterdays team was fine. I'd prefer Carrickt Carriger in the holding role but Gerarrd in behind the strikers is great and works out the Lampard\Gerrard problem nicely. IMO Crouch has earned his england place but unfortuantly Sven still lives in 2001 and believes Beckham and Owen are at Man Utd and Liverpool. But it was good seeing Beckham's best crosses for years. Walcott isn't ready yet and is unlikely to be before the WC.
Transformers: Arsenal fans in disgise
It was pointed out to me today that Crouchy had the space to score because Theo drew his marker and created it. Dunno if that's true - ain't re-seen the goal since being told that.
Really it's Arsenal's recent ***** financial situation (ie paying for that thing they're building that I see whenever I get the train in/out of Kings Cross) that's responsible for Theo not having played in the Prem, rather than his [perceived lack of] ability.
Fact: Arse have to pay Teh Mighty Saints 100k for every competitive club appearance, up until 50.
But they don't have to fork out the 2mill on international appearances until he's got 20 competitive caps.
Ergo the Wenger says "oo eck, I can't afford to play him... oi, Sven - you want to take him to the World Cup? That way I can watch him play in proper games without Dein spanking me for it."
FACT!
