Buying X-Men comics

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Do ppl think this is a good place to start reading - I notice comics like Cable are not listed there? anything else I should be aware of?

It says there's lots more of comics besides those mentioned. I guess that includes The New Mutants, X-Factor and the likes of Cable.

To be honest, there's like ten or so out of 107 issues of Cable that you'd really need to read, unless you're really interested in Cable's solo adventures.

But, yeah, that's a good place to start. The question is whether you'll still be willing to read all of it when you get to the point (mid 90s) when there were 10 monthly seriesand plethora of other things. :) Chronology is a bit of a bitch, too.

Oh, and original run of Uncanny X-Men (before it was relaunched and it introduced the likes of Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler and Colossus into X-world) is a bit tough to get through.

Thoroughly. Good way to work out which trade paperbacks to buy, though, and eBay can police if they feel like it.

No, those are perfectly legal and produced by Marvel. My LCS has the X-Men, Spiderman, and FF DVDs.
