Doesn't spoil the movie much thankfully but it does look very good at the moment.

You know you're still gonna go and see it anyway.sprunkner wrote:I'm still torn on this movie. Everything I've seen makes it look good... but without Bryan Singer, how can we be sure? I loved the first two...
There was a pretty positive AICN review, from the guy who first kicked off a lot of the 'this is going to suck' vibes with his earlier reviews of the script and footage he'd seen. He seemed to think it pretty much came together and the directions the plot takes weren't as dodgy as they could have turned out, and copped to being wrong on his earlier judgements. He seemed to reckon the studio have dodged the bullet on this one, that the central performances and quality of the effects make up for the weaker elements. Fingers crosssed.
There's a clip kicking about somewhere where you can see Chris Claremont and Stan Lee cameoing.
That character does seem somewhat like the Spike. Strangely.

There's supposed to be a character named Spike in this movie, played by actor named Lance Gibson. I don't what he looks like, but I'm pretty sure that's him.KingMob wrote:That character does seem somewhat like the Spike. Strangely.
There's also one more X-Static in the movie, if you have seen the scene from 7-minute trailer in the church (?) when Magneto talks to the gathered mutants, he's there, too.

I just saw the movie.
Easily the best movie Ratner has made, and I really enjoyed it.
It's not the best X-Men movie - but I think I enjoyed it a bit more than the first one.
Allthough I must point out that I am weak, and I shouldn't be allowed to make this statement after just seeing the movie.
It should've been longer though.
I'll hold the spoilers until more peeps have seen it.

Just got home from seeing it.Obfleur wrote:Just to make myself clear: I enjoyed the movie. I don't think it's a super great movie though. It has it's flaws, and I can't wait until somebody else here sees it, so we can discuss.
Lots of really cool stuff in it that I loved.
Lots of really annoying stuff in it that I hated.
Lots of characters utterly ******* raped.
I couldn't be arsed to sit through the end credits, but I think I had the post-creds segment spoilerised for me somewhere else anyway?
And who the hell is Arclight? Are her and Quills really the best Morlocks they could come up with as Callisto's deputies?
Spoilerage!
Other than that, thoroughly enjoyable.I get why they made Juggernaut a mutant, but half the fun of the character is his relation to Chuck... couldn't they have just cast The Blob or someone in that role? I know Juggs has got name value, but ******* Arclight and Quills haven't. Plus surely he would have dented that wall even with Leech there... what with being huge and wearing a metal helmet.
As much as I hate Cyclops, killing him off in that way really ******* pissed me off. Hey, why not actually take the opportunity to do something interesting with the character, as his lost love comes back all psycho? But no, that would detract screen time from whiny Halle Berry, whose "underexposed" Storm got more screen time than Scott in both the previous films.
Rogue getting the cure. I understand why she'd want it... but it would have been a lot more poignant if she hadn't gotten it. I was half expecting her to show up and drain Jean of her powers.
Was that meant to be Betsy with the purple hair? Why not just psche knife Warren II? Why throw him off the roof? Okay, I get why - so Angel could grab him... but seriously...
Hank's desire to close the school seemed totally off.
Griping about having only six of them... they could have at least used that to acknowledge Kurt's absence. Doesn't even need explaining... just... y'know... mention it...
I like the fact that nobody even thinks to ask what happened to Scott until ages later.
[/whiny fanboy mode]
Who was the fat guy who shrunk to become a thin guy?
And I thought Betsy could only do that teleport thing through shadows or something?
Plus the new Superman Returns trailer is ******* awesome.
"But millions of people will die."
"Billions"
"Go on. Say it."
"You're insane."
"No, not that - the other thing."
"Superman will nev-"
"WRONG!!!!"
Grrr. Argh.

SPOILERS OH HELLZOR
Dude, do not read below. It has teh spoilzors.

Yes, Hank seemed really turned on about closing the school.
IMO that whole scene was really off. It felt like it was ten seconds long, and in that ten seconds a lot of **** happened.
Angel showed up, Hank wanted to scrap the school, Storm took on the leadership, etc.
As I said: the movie is to short.
And what about Colossus?
He is a vital part of the team - but he has like one line in the entire movie.
And about the end credits (Which I didn't see): Prof. X transfered his mind to the coma dude.

Arclight was one of the Marauders. Same powers, dressed in blue/silver, her hair not looking like Stacy X's.Brendocon wrote:And who the hell is Arclight?
Probably Phat off X-Force/X-Statix, cause he's among the credits, and I can't see anybody else who could be him.Brendocon wrote:Who was the fat guy who shrunk to become a thin guy?
