Cyber-Man!

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

And the way you could imagine them both saying things like "Never mind. Best foot forward, eh? Whoop! Mind that pool of blood. Blood? That's brilliant! Means there's hope for defeating this unkillable thing Hmm?"

Terribly OTT wasn't it?
Yes, mind you i thought Roger Lloyd Pack was terrably miss cast in this. I reckon it would have been much better if he and Don Warrington had swapped roles! Don's excellent, shame he had to go and die and all.

Er, yes? I loved it, very spooky. What with that, poor Scooti's "trip outdoors" and the "don't turn around" bit, i thought it was great. A bit let down by some of Billi's performance i thought (or maybe just Rose's character rather than Billie herself...)

SPOILERS
(Do we need 'em for a 20+ year old story? I'll leave 'em in but...) ;)

everyone dies at the end, in some ways the tone would have been darker if someone had profitted or been left to pick up the pieces. The Lava beast was a big waste of time as well. On the other hand the regeneration was excellent (nice Master cameo) as was the dark edge they applied to it with Baker essentially seeming to reject his former incarnation with his opening lines and the ominous 'feels different this time' comment from Davison as he passed.
Androzani is an incredably bleak tale for Dr Who, mind you Davison's last season had some pretty dark stuff in it through out, what with the body count at the end of Resurrection of the Daleks and Kamelion's actions in Planet of Fire, the only way was down! (and i don't just mean down Ms Bryant's cleavage during the regeneration).... ;)

The Twin Dilemma?! Ugh... don't bother. Watch the beginning post-regen scenes between ColDoc and Peri but don't bother with the rest, it's awful. An absymal end to an otherwise great season...

Now, that is a total classic!! and possibly good timing as a certain actor is in the current two parter (or at least his voice is) too!

Didn't Timmin (or whatever her name was - the girl on the other planet) survive? Though the best thing about the next story is that Colin Baker attempts to strangle Peri.

Oh, and the second half of the Cyberman story was style over substance - the Cybermen are big clanky and numerous, but the plot is relatively weak.

I'm currently going through Smallville on DVD. Just finished season 1 - a long way to go! Lana liked to have her cake and eat it as far as I saw.

Here's a complete Doctor Who episode listing:

There's some decent Dalek stories available on DVD:
The Daleks (part of The Beginning box set)
The Dalek Invasion of Earth
Genesis of the Daleks
Resurrection of the Daleks
Revelation of the Daleks
Remembrance of the Daleks

I remember when I was asking all these questions on here... ;)
