If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Wow that is good news. I'm one of the few people who didn't buy the Star Wars DVD set yet.
Now I may do it so I can have both original and remastered versions.
I'm shocked though that they are doing this. Lucas vowed never to do this as the movies weren't what he felt was his true vision.

Impressive. Most impressive.
Personally, I'm fairly happy with the special editions, even though some of the 'artistic' choices were plain weird.
I notice its only for a limited period. Funny that.

There was just such a spoken demand amongst the fans that he finally broke down, realizing it would be silly not to cash in on it?
I dunno... I have the original VHS-box with the remastered sets, and I loved it, not sure what many nag about seeing the originals again.

I haven't read anything saying that Lucas himself wanted this done. Everything just says "Lucasfilm has decided..." Is it possible this was done without his consent? Is Lucasfilm a publicly traded company where such things can happen?
