MMO funeral death raid!

Popular MMO World of Warcraft has many servers, some general gameplay other devoted to Player V's Player action (PVP)

A recent event saw many ppl on a PVP serve come together for a funeral. a member of someones guild had died in real life, who used to play the game alot and lots of folk in game decided to hold a service to remember thier friend - the opposing factions saw this as a god chance to kick the crap out of the other side!

theres been alot of argument that this was staged (like Leeroy Jenkins)

IMO the video is funny as hell. I for one would not want people queing up to "pay thier respects" to my toon. thats just me. It is sad that someone died. I am not saying the guild involved arent a bunch of assholes.. but they even say it in the video.

There has been alot of debate as to why they didnt hold the funeral in a friendly faction zone. Play on a PvP server.. you know this. Im 100% POSITIVE that the guy who died would have ben irritated that they were dumb about where they held this. Providing someone in fact did die.

We had someone die on our server and a bunch of horde tried to hold his funeral in Stormwind Cathedral.. You can imagine the result.

I also thought the music was great.

Copuldn't really make out exactly what was happening, but I got the jist and found it amusing.

Yeah, it's the music and the cutting back and forth that made it for me as well. You just have to start laughing, really. It was well-done.

(Apols to anyone whose ever taken part in an online funeral for an internet fictionsuit and feels gravely offended, obv.)

For those of you who don't know, there's a forum for each server, and what happens on one server has no in-game effects upon any other server.

The forum for the server that this video originated on EXPLODEDDDDDD after the video was released with hundreds and hundreds of posts either talking about what a band of assholes Serenity Now is.. or the more frequent converse.

And, as a WoW-aside, I think one of the most ironic things are the Spirits of Redemption [lol improved death] that you see popping up when some of the holy priests are killed. Most certainly a talent my priest would never touch when I still had him ^^

I was thinking that the guy who dies, if he wanted to be remembered at all is sure to be now, millions of ppl around the world are talking about his funeral.

His character's funeral, you mean. Technically anyway... it's an odd concept. I wonder how that'd work?

I find the concept of interrupting a funeral in that way somewhat disgusting regarless of how famous the dead guy might be now.

I see the light at the end of the tunnel!!! and its a train...

I still find the notion of a MMO funeral (as stupid as it is from the get go)for a real guy funny and disgusting. More disgusting than funny, either way (if its real obviously). And thats my POV of something I analyze from MY perspective.
