Graphics Whore!

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Yes I am one - you have to be in regards to 3D work I guess - Anyhows. you might recall the most excellent FarCry which used the 'crytek' engine to power its 3D world along.
On its way is 'Crysis' the Sequal to FarCry and powered by Crytek Engine 2 - apart from being the 2nd engine its also one of the first games to use Direct X 10

As you can see its mighty spiffy with realtime soft shadows and clever ligting etc - not to mention an insane geometry count - every leaf can be shot out if your wondering, when you mve everything reacts around you.
Nearly thee I guess in terms of photorealism.

Getting there. In motion the hard lines and edges would be less noticeable.

For realism, game manufacturers are going to have to sacrifice full field focus and some of the bright colours.
