If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Art / colouring programmes?
Post

Y'ellow.
I'm trying to get back into drawing pickchoorz again, and I'd quite like to have a go at colouring them using something like paintshop or whatever it is all the cool kids are using nowadays.
Thing is, it has to be free software-I'm not really up for paying for something which I may not get along with, and downloading 'naughty' stuff makes me nervous 'cause I'm a big scaredy cat.
Any tips or tricks would be appreciated too-although I prefer to colour using more traditional methods, I seem to suck at it lately and I'm impressed with some of the computer generated stuff I've seen (plus, I imagine that once you're familiar with the software you can achieve some speedy yet impressive results? That would be brilliant to be able to produce several coloured versions of one picture in an hour or so, rather than spend several hours producing a big old pile of rubbish).
Cheers,
The Big Piss.

My recs:

I gather the best way to computer-colour stuff is with a graphics tablet rather than a mouse, though. Not so much the software.
Also, there are techniques for drawing in pale blue (that doesn't scan) for the pencil work, over which inks can be set.

Dont worry ill be shouting about it very soon!
I have very high standards, so anything less then excellence requires me to whip my back in penance.
