Infinite Crisis (Spoilers)

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Infinite Crisis (Spoilers)

I like it! I dare say that Infinite Crisis is not only the best comic book crossover that has ever happened, but that (barring Marvel merging with DC) it is the best crossover that WILL ever happen.

I have been a dedicated Marvel zombie for nearly two decades. Rarely did I ever venture over into DC territory and when I did, it was mostly for a couple of months before I simply dropped whatever I was reading again.

Not so with Infinite Crisis. I got on the Identity Crisis bandwagon late, but when I read the series I thought it was pretty sweet. Sweet enough, anyway, to pick up (and read) Countdown to Infinite Crisis (80 pages of comic for a buck? Jim Lee and Alex Ross cover? Sure. That's worth a buck).

I didn't get it. It was full of stuff that made me go "I'll bet if I'd been reading DC comics for the last 20 years, this would be great." It was interesting, but it didn't make me want to go and buy the four mini-series (and four one shots, and the four extra comics needed to understand the first mini-series, or the last two years of Batman, etc) that led into the series. Fortunately, a good friend of mine did just that. So, mooching being what it is, I read all the stuff required to get into Crisis.

How good is Infinite Crisis? Reading all those books that I started off with no interest in and grew to enjoy were WORTH IT.

Who else is lovin' Crisis?

IC indeed does rule, even for Marvel Zombies like ourselves. You just have to appreciate alternate dimensions/doppelganger/back from the dead type stuff, like any good comic book/Star Trek episode.

Although I have to say, #5 wasn't up to snuff compared to the previous two.
