The Oscars.

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

I didn't really like Crash. Narnia was okay. Kong was awesome.

Philip Seymour Hoffman is an amazing actor. Very pleased for him. I also have much respect for George Clooney, someone who repeatedly puts his neck on the line.

Been a fan of Rachel Weisz for years. Congrats to her.

Enjoyed Crash, thought it lost a lot of impact the second time out and there are a few niggles with it. Of the other nominations, I've only seen Brokeback. Thought that it was great, both cinematically and from an acting perspective. Probably deserved it more... cue Church Conspiracy theorising.

Mean to see "Walk The Line" and "Good Night and Good Luck" at some point. Clooney always comes across as a decent chap.

Narnia? Best make-up? Hrm... yeah, I won't argue that. Just on the sheer scale of the task undertaken.
Grrr. Argh.

Wallace and Gromit was great!

Haven't seen any of the others. Want to see Brokeback mountain soon. Read the Narnia book and decided that I did not want to see the movie because I did not like the book.

After Star Wars, I would say it was my most enjoyed film of the year.

How the hell did Star Wars lose to Chronicles of Narnia for makeup?

Me thinks Hollywood has grown to hate Lucus.

How much make up was there in Sith, out of interest? I know there was the whatnot with flaming Hayden at the end, but what else?

Narnia, on the other hand, had all those Centaurs and Tumnuses and stuff.
Grrr. Argh.

You know its hard out here for a pimp.. Jesus. Can Hollywood get over wanting "street cred" and get back to making FILMS? This was not the MTV awards. Can you honestly tell me that Charlton Heston voted on a 36 Mafia song?

And for the record I happen to LIKE 36 Mafia.. But John Williams URINATES better composition.

Hehe. You are most definitely right there. Williams is pure genius.

Lessee... dudes in paint and cheesy face-dos over centaurs and the like. Hmm...

I haven't been to the movies much this year, costs an arm and a leg over here. I'm still waiting to see Memoirs of a Geisha, Narnia, and Wallace and Gromit. I did see Crash about a month ago, I thought it was an excellent film but kinda overhyped. Most films strike me as such, though. *shrug*

Speaking of Oscar movies on DVD, the others should be out soon, or might already be out... it's been awhile since I checked, hmm.

Actually, after seeing him on Bowling for Columbine, yes, yes I can see him voting for it. In fact I think he just voted for whatever has guns in it!
