But... you start out as a small cell, and work your way up?

basically yes, you start out as a tiny little microbe type thing and evolve into a sentient lifeform (of your own making), then you build a civilization and then take to the stars, where you can travel to other planets and meet aliens and such like...

I've long thought about a game like this, and how cool it'd be... I'm sure they got a few biologists to help out in the 'storyline' - whish I could've been there.

I can't wait to try out a demo.
