See, that's why I've never bothered with anything Wolverine-centric.
The moment they start wheeling out definitive conclusive answers to anything related to the character... well...
a) A huge part of his mystique will be destroyed
b) They'll have to stop commissioning mini-series revolving around him promising conclusive and definitive answers...

Grrr. Argh.
I can't believe that Wolverine hasn't had a good solo outing to his name for years (if ever). Surely he is one of Marvel's big hitters?
I'll be gobsmacked if Sabretooth stays dead too. Just aint gonna happen.
Great news about Ellis on Astonishing. Hopefully he will be able to give us more than 1 issue every 3 months.

SPOILERS
What the ****? Do these guys take me for a ******* idiot?
What a waste! It took damn near six issues to have Wolverine chop Sabretooths head off with a sword? And worst of all, we don't get to even find out who the freak Romulus is and the mystery is as wide open as it's ever been.
That's it for me. This whole Wolverine thing has lead me nowhere fast, and I'm done paying for this crap. [/i]
Damn straight. One blonde, one black? WTF?!KingMob wrote:http://www.thexaxis.com/wolverine/wolverine55.htmYaya wrote:Just read the latest Wolverine issue, the "conclusion" (said with derisive sarcasm) to the current Sabretooth storyline.

Seriously going to work extra hard to make up the money I blew on this 'revelation'.
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.
Good grief, that's dreadful.
Nice to see Jeph Loeb's plotting skills have advanced beyond the "well, the vague idea was this when we threw it about in meetings a few years back, so I don't actually need to read anything published since in order to ensure it makes sense" approach from the Onslaught saga.
It's **** like that which means I'm not gonna bother with Ultimates 3.
[EDIT] And didn't we get a wolf-people parallel evolution storyline in Uncanny a few years back? Dominant Species or something, wasn't it? About the same time as Havok's return and the Exiles crossover? Wouldn't it have made sense to just pick up that thread?
[EDIT 2] ... really should have read all the X Axis article...

Anybody pick up Annihilation: Star Lord? Looks like it could be fun, especially with that Rocket Racoon chap.
Nova is solid, and Wraith seems interesting.

Well, lads, I've got something a little bit unusual to recommend.
Tarzan of the Apes - By Burroughs & Burne Hogarth.
It's an original graphic novel by one of the foremost illustrators on the Tarzan-property. ( He did the Sunday-pages for a long time) Now, I'm not sure if this is a master-piece or anything, but it's damn, damn good. It uses the actual words from the novel, in caption-boxes instead of speech-bubles, and therefore follows the book to the, well, letter.
One can tell that it is slightly held back in the art-department by the paper and printing of the time, but considering this was back in 72, even prior to the advancement of printing that made colouring like that in the Marvel Graphic Novel series possible, it's still quite a bit of craftsmanship in it. The pallette is limited, but the craftsmanship to the colouring..! Oh, the skill! Hogarth was a genius, and you can tell where others that came after him, ( Gil Kane, Kubert ) got their inspiration from.
If you like adventure stories and comics, or if you like something a little bit different but still mainstream, hell, if you like comics at all, check it out.
Because of it's publication in the 70's getting ahold of a copy is pretty damn hard, but there are always ways...

I'm, all over Starlord, been looking forward to it for aaaages. Love the cast. Wraith is worth a read then? I skipped it. Quasar was kinda okay, the story was interesting but the page layout of the art was really, really distracting. Might not bother with #2 and just stick with Nova and Starlord.Yaya wrote:Anybody pick up Annihilation: Star Lord? Looks like it could be fun, especially with that Rocket Racoon chap.

Nextwave fans might want to read the latest Ms Marvel. Or just the pages at this link (link goes straight to the pages so be wary if your connection is a bit slow):

I'm sticking with it only because he struck me as kind of cool, sort of a Cosmic Ghost Rider chap. Certainly, can't recommend it just based on that, but that's why I liked it anyway. Seemed like something different.Ozz wrote:I dunno. I'm certainly interested in what will happen next, given the last page, but other than that I can't say it was great read.KingMob wrote:Wraith is worth a read then?

Kinda sorry to post just to spread bad news, but I'm totally shocked by this.
Mike Wieringo has died:

I love that guy's work. He draws the best Fantastic Four. There's always something about his lines that make me smile or feel 'up', he seems to draw energy and optimism into his pages somehow, and it's always cool to see his cheery little 'Ringo!' signature.

Just starting reading Planet Hulk hardcover.
I just realized those guards on the planet look like the new Death's Head. Then, in the story they are actually called Death's Heads!
Anybody else catch this or am I late to the game here?

Just read the latest Thunderbolts issue Damn good stuff, probably my favorite Marvel title thus far. First time I've really read Ellis' stuff, and I think the guy can write.
Also enjoyed the final issue of X-men/WWH. Nice to see the Juggernaut go toe to toe with the Hulkster again. Finally, someone who didn't get the crap beat out of him. Wonder how Thor would hold against Hulk right now?
Also, I went back and read the Planet Hulk hardcover. Something tells me that Miek was behind the ship explosion.

New Excalibur will be written by Paul Cornell (probably) from #25. I only read first issue of his Wisdom, but liked it and heard good things about the rest, so I hope this will be good times for this book.
Yeah, yeah, I know he's also big name in Dr. Who, but I never watched it and besides I see it as a different kind of work.
