Yeah, but at least they were dead.
Now Jean's dead, Scott's shacked up with a supervillain, Hank's a cat, Warren has no clue what the hell is going on and Bobby's being drawn by Bachalo.
I mean come on, dead is preferable right?
Though to be fair to Hank, Abby Brand. I would.
Grrr. Argh.

Ok, i see where you guys are going (except the Bachalo bit, cos he is ace) but you would think they woudl at least be happy that everyone else isn't dead, even if Scott is playing Doctors and Nurses with Emma Frost.
Which to be fair to Scott... etc
Then again i think turning into Fiery Bird Energy B@stards might have a bit of an impact on that relationship.
On that note i think A v X has picked up again after issue 5. Wanda's involvment gives a much better justification to the X-Men's Avengers aversion and i like the distinction between Scott seeming to keep it all together with his new power levels but the others starting to falter which in turn makes the Avenger's sense of threat seem more rationale.
Plus fighting.

Getting a peak at your future and not really recognising yourself is going to be a lot more disturbing than "those giant robots killed us all". Possibly.
"We would have gotten away with it if not for that pesky dystopian future."
They did get away with it. But ****** it up a bit.
Et cetera.
"Hey guys, you remember that time when we were kids and we time-travelled forward and saw the world exactly like this, got a bit freaked out and vowed we'd never turn out like this? Me neither."
Need it to be tomorrow. Tomorrow is comics day. :/

Apparently Bendis is going to "really respect" time travel. So, er, that's good.
Not sure how i feel about Bendis on X-men. By and large liked his Avengers stuff and Ultimate Spidey is a triumph but can't help but feel that the X-men are going to suddenly start sounding a lot like the New Avengers.

Yeah AoA is a gem.
Not sure how much it's pulling in sales wise - feels like a good book that not many people will read. Hopefully i'm wrong.

Yesterday evening, instead of going out and drinking and seeing people and all that other normal person stuff, I sat on my arse and read the first two trades of The Boys.
I then spent the rest of the evening dying inside at the fact it'll be midweek at the earliest before I can get my mits on more.

You can cry even more soon, there's only 4 issues left.
And you're going to have to resist temptation to find out about all the mad **** that's happened in the last 6 months.
And you'll cry with laughter when you get to Billy Butcher recounting The "real" origin story of the green lantern.
Needless to say, it is my fave comic

Space AIDS?
Have finished the sixth trade. Just had the origins of the other members. Amaze.
Vol 7 sat at home for tonight, then I'm going to have to restock. Love.
And after Herogasm I'll never be able to read Secret Wars again.

Of course it made you laugh, it's the phrase "Space AIDS".
That's The Innocents trade done. **** like this is why I wait until series are either over or nearly done before I start - so I can rattle through it without having to twiddle my thumbs for a month waiting for my next tiny hit of awesome.

Blah blah AvX blah blah.
Really odd. Feels like it could all be condensed down and quicker, but at the same time it feels like not enough's happening and that all the interesting stuff is in the tie-ins. The Frenzy-centric issue of Legacy is probably my favourite bit of the whole thing.
I get the whole "core event" thing, but reading this I sometimes think it would have been sensibler to have just run it through the existing titles as a crossover. In order to get the full picture of what's going on (with the academy and Iron Fist's mate and what happened in space and what the hell that deus ex machina Tony whipped from nowhere to zap the Phoenix with was) I'm going to have to pick up eleventyseven Avengers issues.
Anyway - this whole "when one of them falls" thing needs more definition. Ie what "fall" actually sodding means. Handy that the Rasputins taking each other out happened off-page so that nobody had to think two hard about the logistics.
Because I don't follow how the hell that could happen. I mean they've both got the exact same power, surely it would just cancel the other out if they attacked simultaneously... but then if one of them got the drop on the other, how did a depowered one defeat the other? Does it have to be a knock-out and them both going for the punch at the same time bounced back and knocked em both out and made it all go poof? JE NE COMPRENDE.
Don't worry, just enjoy the fighting yay it's Spider-Man see he saved the day yay Spider-Man.
Whales with legs though. And some nice Emma stuff.

Eh - I'm quite enjoying it to be honest.
In terms of taking each other out - Soul Sword to the head vs Metal fist to the brain?
I'm intrigued as to exactly how Scott vs Emma vs everyone else is now going to play out.
I've gotta feeling Emma might beat Scott.

It's fun, just feels a little disjointed pace/content wise. Blahblah.

Aye, but it would be nice if we weren't left to do the writers' jobs for em by guessing.

Thor's been a good title for years, but this new take sounds especially fantastic:

Yes! I love that too. Having Viking Thor is so brilliant you wonder why no one's done it before. The same can't be said for that Iron Man pitch though. Even if they DIDN'T lose me at "Greg Land," I'm not sure some different suits and Tony's trysts with women (what came first, the idea of having an entire arc devoted to Tony knock-knocking with women OR deciding that Land would draw the book?) are enough to interest me. I'll give Marvel this though: sexualization and changing costumes/fashion for novelty values are certainly NOW!.

Yeah, I remember that horrible Phoenix: Endsong book, which seemed to exist merely to have Land draw Emma in poses copped from pr0n. And seriously, the entire world is happy with the idea of Pepper holding Tony's leash.
So is this going to be the sextehsexxzors that Tony has all over the place before he settles down with Pepper? What's the statute of limitations on fan acid reflux over Kurt Busiek's Pepper/Tony romance way back in '99?

First we have to have a magical duel to decide who gets stuck with the drawing bit.

I have run out of trades of The Boys.
Which means I have read upto-including #65.
[composite word including 'f*ck'] me that was fantastic.
Worked it out about half an issue before the reveal. Perfect and obvious and brilliant. Because it was there. The whole time. Amazing.
Now I have to decide whether to catch up in singles or just wait for the last trade.
Think I'll kill time catching up on Fables in the interim (am shockingly behind due to having to go back and catch up on Jack before I could read the crossover). Yay comics.

you don't really need to catch up on Jack to read the crossover - i didn't.
Anyway - today's announcement is i just made the decision to switch to digital.
Just sent the email to my comic shop.
was the right thing to do for a number of reasons, mainly space and money...
but i feel like a sh*t for shafting my comics shop.
I will still buy all my trades through them.
But yeah, feel like a heel.
And like it's the end of an era as well - 18 years or so of buying paper comics.
But an ipad takes up a lot less space. And leaves more room for plastic robots...
yeesh.

Get you Mr Swanky Digital Traitor to the Cause.
I couldn't cope with that. I can't mentally process something as "having it" unless I've physically got it. I've got so many folders of music that I have zero recollection of ever acquiring, solely because there's nothing physical for them.
Jack's one of those things that I enjoyed but could never remember where I was in it (the fact I bought a wodge of trades in one hit didn't help)... the expanding pile of Main Title next to it made me just back away slowly and it got filed permanently under "get around to it later".
Still, all conquered now and stuff. Just need to crack on and get up-to-date on it. So long a I don't get distracted by Hellblazer collections and starting 100 Bullets. I buy too many trades. :/

Just catching up on Uncanny X-Force because life got in the way for a bit and I've got a massive pile of unread comics and stuff.
Isn't Sabretooth Mystique's son or something?
Or have I missed something?

Nay, you dweeb!
Us true fans know that they have been f***-buddies ( more like... frenemie-f***ers..?) for decades, and have a human son together, who naturally became the leader of the Friends of Humanity (terrorist-dudes dressed up as politicians, yadda yadda), since his parents are indeed, evil mutants.
