If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

i decided i would wait for the trade - i think i missed 2.
Thanks for the X-Men/DAvengers link - i like it when cross overs span titles i already pick up.
Deadpool made me laugh out loud this week. Does that mean i have the same sense of humour as Yaya?
Also Buffy: yay, Andrew.

X-Force 13 made me
It's the flagship X-title at the moment IMO

Read
Marvel Zombies Volume One.
That may be the funniest comic I have ever read.
![Laughing ](images/smilies/laugh.gif)
I laughed out loud many a time reading that.
Thanks BF. Twas very Deadpool-esque in the humor deparment, true comedic genius.
Are volume 2 and 3 as entertaining?
The part where Pym just bites off Wasps head after she went bitching to him was ace.

Better than X-Factor? Seriously? I guess I could see it, if only because X-Factor can't get a decent artist.

Finished all three Marvel Zombie volumes.
Volume 1= one of my top five fav stories
Volume2=pretty good with some funny moments
Volume 3=average, but they lost what made this series so great. The humor.

X-Factor is great, but I don't think of it as a traditional X-book.
X-Force is epic. Relentless pace, great cliffhangers, great characterisation and a genuine feeling that everyone is at peril. It's also fan-pleasing without fan-wanking.

So... Am I the only one that thinks Uncanny X-men kicks arse now that Fraction's come in and enhanced Bru's run with some much-needed new blood?
I am also oddly impressed with X-men Legacy, it's making Professor X an actual relatable and likable character again. Deeply flawed yes, but very human, and with a very valid and logical life-goal. Hippie-whining be damned, he's got the dream.
Very clever right now btw, with how it looks like the good Professor will more or less reluctantly be banding together a team of X-men of the peeps that are currently outcasts from Cyke's regular teams.

Phew. Don't have the same sense of humour as Commander Yaya after all.

Seriously? I don't think it was intended to be that humorous. Was it?
Apparently there's a Volume 4 on the way.
Bought a TPB yesterday that features a story called "Dead Day" that I think occurs in the Ultimates universe.

Dead Day or Dead Days? Dead Days is a prequel to Volume 1 set in the Marvel Zombies universe.

i think it was intended to be both darker and more irreverant than the previous incarnations - and i think it yanks it off with some aplomb.
And its all out of gum.
Same creative team on volume four.

How can something starring Aaron Stack not be funny?

Where's he from?
The last I ever read about Machine Man he was this generic Spiderman villian in the 80's with retractable arms and legs. Looked ridiculous, really.

you sure you aren't confusing him with Stilt Man?
The similarities are actually the basis for a joke in MZ3
And thinking of Mr Stack's handling of that situation is making me chuckle.
Machine Man has been in two classics
- The eponymous Barry Windsor Smith limited series based in 2020
- NEXTWAVE
As well as playing a key role in the slightly wierd Earth X stuff.
He also had a crap X-Men spin of title for a bit where he got remade as part sentinel but it was gash so its probably best not to worry about it too much...

Funny, cause I
was actually thinking of a guy with the face of the real Machine Man but the body of Stilt Man.

It's moments like these, when the creators of the things I held dear in my youth pass on, where my own mortality begins to hit home.
It's jarring, because I can remember reading Marvel TF #1-4 as if it were yesterday, as if I were that same impetuous kid.
Except it's been 25 years since then.
And Frank Springer is dead.

Damn. Sad to hear that. He did work on an historic book. I wonder if he ever imagined that little 4-issue mini he was working on, would ever continue on to become part of this big phenomenon?
Best First, Paul, do you think we could put up a note of memorial on the front-page, a news-item?
I don't consider myself a great man with words, otherwise I would do it myself. Do you think EmmVee could be up for it?
Man... I'll never forget his first shot of Megatron in action, with the fusion-cannon... letting lose the power of anti-matter and ending an entire city in one single stroke.

As someone else on the internet said, I wouldn't touch the book if Jesus and Jim Lee were on it.

Yeah but that's true for any title, surely?
I mean Jesus' writing career jumped the shark seriously after that whole "Easter" storyline. He's singlehandedly to blame for the trend in comics that nobody stays dead.
