Did he? I thought the black costume first appeared in Secret War(s?), which was where the symbiote first hitched a lift with him... iirc, he had his own black costume later, after getting rid of the symbiote, but stopped using it after Venom went after MJ.Ozz wrote:Yes, but Spider-Man had used black costume even before he "met" the alien.

Gah, you're right, I goofed. In the issue when Spider-Man comes back from the planet created by Beyonder with symbiote, everybody's going: "And you are... ?". And he did go back to red/blue costume after first meating with Venom, because MJ asked him to do it (this I'm sure). However, he used it on couple of occasions when situation demanded it (like going into the sewers after Morbius), despite MJ's annoyance.Brendocon wrote:Did he? Supposedly, and I think this is grasping at straws, if you enlarge the picture and tilt your head to the left (or just tilt the picture), you can see half of Venom's face in the eye.

Topher Grace is "supposedly" playing Venom. In the sense that Kirsten Dunst "let it slip" in an interview and he's the only actor listed on IMDb without a character in the thing yet. Yay for rumour mongering!IronHide wrote:I've heard talk that venom is the villian for this one. Hope they get someone good to play him. Also hope they finish the green goblin storyline with Harry in this one....dont know though.
I've read three things on the whole Harry thing. The first is that they're "not going in the direction people expect" with it. Take that for what you will. James Franco doesn't want to do another Spidey film after this one. And some make-up/fx company has confirmed that they've made several applications for the flick, including one for Franco.
Blah.

See, and Thomas Haden Church, from the movie "Sidways" or the TV show "Wings", is also on board for Spider-Man 3.
But what I heard was that Topher IS Venom, and Church is Sandman. Which makes sense because, even though Church is closer to Brock, Topher is closer to a Peter Parker looking doppelganger, which is what they'll try to do.
But then what about Harry? If this IS the last movie he wants to be in, you've got to have some resolution. But Spidey can't take on three foes. Unless you throw in the Black Cat or something. I like the Hobgoblin thing, though. Gets all disfigured like Jack in Batman. Cool.

I wants Hobgoblin.
There's a pretty decent photoshop of the poster up here:
