DDR

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

DDR

Post by Professor Smooth » Thu Feb 23, 2006 6:54 am

I was over at a friend's house and tried out DDR (Dance Dance Revolution). I've seen it (and even made a fool of myself once or twice) at a couple of arcades and the occassional bowling alley, but I'd never checked out the home version before. I was surprised by how much fun it was. Fun, and a workout. So, I caved and bought a couple of pads and DDR Max 2 (it was the cheapest one I could find).

Anyone else want to admit to playing this?

I hope you're all better than me. I suck.

I have been wanting one for years now, but still haven't bought one. You need a Playstation for that as well, right? Good excuse to get one of those :)

There is a big machine at the arcade hall at the beach, but last time I was there it was filled with 14-year old girls who were very good, so I was too shy to have a try. Maybe next time!

I love DDR. There are 8-bit versions you can buy that plug straight into a high-def TV. My wife's friend Jon loves DDR so much that, when the DDR at his favorite bowling alley broke, he cussed out the manager and swore to never come in again.

My little sister's boyfriend just gave me some lip about it. Something about looking like Napolean Dynamite while doing it.

I pulled out my knife and told him the next time he said something like that it was going to cost him a finger.

Gosh.

You realise that makes you MORE like Napolean Dynamite right?

Anyway... you look good in moon boots.

One of the first games I go for when I'm out doing the arcade thang and I see it. I'd love to get a home version of it, may just at some point.

If you have toe explain the joke, there is no joke...
Solution is simple:

Don't have Toe explain the joke.

The problem is that the joke was so terrible that it did not even come across as a joke.

Been playing on/off for about 2 years.

Since I have a gamecube at home, I picked up the DDR Mario Mix when it came out just before x-mas. If actually fits just about in my difficulty range on the hard settings, and the pad is very nice.

On the arcade version of Extreme I can do 5/6 foot songs. (I could probably do more, but I insist on fast ones)

And I thought this would be about THE DDR - Deutsche Demokratisches Republik. (the soviet-controlled part of Germany not so long ago...). :D My mistake...
