Returning to the suck.

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Returning to the suck.

From 27 Feb to 16 March, I'll be off for my annual military training and pretty much offline. I checked the last time, and lurking isn't an option for the period either, so just make sure you change the newspapers under TF: BoB every evening.

Thanks for all the kind words, guys. It's old news by now but I'm back in the saddle... expect an all-new Aaron Hong War Journal one of these days. :)

OK, two things to report:

Next year's training starts early, in January, lasting for three weeks yet again. Gaah.
The War Journal is all ready for posting (it's a process involving rereading the scrips of paper I wrote it all on, however much of it survived the mud, then typing it all into Notepad). So do I keep it all in this thread or start a new one with the proper title?

EDIT: Ok, it's done. Mods feel free to close this one.

Almost time for this year's round in camp. Three weeks starting January 4th. Remember to change the newspapers under Predabot and so on.

I'll have the details in the War Journal when it's ready to roll. For now I'm back home again and trying to get some sleep again.

*runs a dustbuster over the whole thread*

I must have two different threads for this or something because there should be posts mentioning 2008, just cant find it... Yeah it's that time again. Starting this Thursday, February 26, and lasting about a week (3rd March).

I can't really say enjoy, since it doesn't sound remotely close to enjoyable, so... tolerate. Take care of yourself.

So is there an age limit for this compulsory service? Like once you're X years old, you no longer have to do it?

They go by number & length of tours of duty rather than age. Once you've clocked enough they write you down as 'MinDef (Ministry of Defence) Reserve' and that's when we're done with it. Should be soon - some of our folks have to reschedule due to work commitments so they're the ones who wind up doing it longer.

I'm seriously thinking of bringing a Gundam to build during the slow periods.

In my rush to get my sh-t ready I almost forgot to post this here. Going in again, Monday morning, should be done in less than a week.
