Best Rock/Rap Crossover Ever

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Numb/Encore Remix from Linkin Park/Jay-Z? I don't want to like it, but it just gets stuck in my dome.

On the same soundtrack, I thought that Dinosaur Jnr/Del the Funky Homosapien "missing link" was much more innovative.

Living Colour & Run DMC "Me Myself and My Microphone"..... anything the Colour touch is gold IMO.

Bodycount? ("I'm Ice-mother*****-T, bitch" :D )

Veering away slightly, has anyone heard The Gourds cover of Snoops 'Gin and Juice'? If not, go find.....vfunny!

your style is whack brother. I think that's one of the wrost ones on there, altho it still remains a top class album.

Missing Link is fun, but it lacks the grrr factor. He mentions kitty pride though. good man.

i may have staretd this topic when drunk. imagine.

I can only really think of 2, and I dont think either are that great:

99 Problems and Walk this way.

I'm going to go through my tunes now and see what I can find.

Hmm, think The Roots & Cody Chestnutt can be shoed into rap/rock.

The seed is a tune, I put all my eggs in his basket, till I find a better baket.

Nothing tops the classic "Bring Tha Noise" by Public Enemy and Anthrax. It's even on Tony Hawk 2.

Beasties is almost on a par.

Sensorwise i prefer Age of Panic, What's Going On and Eject.

checka-checka-checka-checka-checka-check it out.

grrrr factor?... blah
its all about cypress hill's chillin beats and sonic youth's near comatose mutterings that are so smooth

All Cypress Hills best stuff is far more up tempo sweetie.

Rock Superstar would be a far more obvious candidate.

If you can't bounce up and down like a mother****er to it then it doesn't belong in this topic.

Sweetie? I didnt know we were quite there in our relationship yet?

anyway, cypress hills best stuff is always what goes best with a fat J. What better than a song with a chorus "I love you Mary Jane"

whole heartedly agree on that one.

Then there are bands that ARE rock/rap. And I swear if anyone mentions Limp Bizkit I will send my children over to destroy your house.

Rage Against the Machine first and foremost

Agreed. 'Know your enemy' - one of the greatest songs by anyone ever.

Anyone remember 24/7 Spyz? 'Grandma Dynamite' could be the ultimate track you're searching for. Much catchier guitar riff than any of the tracks so far mentioned. Proper hip-hop attitude (late eighties / early ninties :D ) . Plus, they are (or were) a proper band, not some novelty collaboration ;)

BF - admit defeat!

Rage are a politcal rap/rock band. Or were. Ill listen to anything with Tom Morello. Audioslave

You cant deny lyrics like "Rolling down Rodeo with a shotgun, these people aint seen a brown skinned man since thier grandparents bought one!"

Makes my Native American heritage hate my Irish heritage.. and I have to perform some "self abuse". Um.. yeah

 Anyway.

And you can't even hum it. Kids today don't know what real music is :p

'course its rap! Rythmic speach set to music. Lots of rappers shout.
Best First wrote: i love rage, but they are clearly owned, as are all things, but the song mentioned in my initail post.
I love FNM as much as the next man, but that track is far from being the standout track on the Judgment Night soundtrack, nevermind the best of all time.

If we just restrict it to FNM, then 'Epic' and 'We care a Lot' are better rap/rock tracks, cos at least they have character. Or are they just shouting as well ;)

As good as it is, 'Another body murdered' is a bit......generic, I suppose.
