In Win XP press Alt + Control + Right arrow.

Ive tried it in 5 different pcs and only works in the ones with Windows XP. The screen "rotates" depending of the arrow you press.

Maybe its also an issue with the screen? (mine is Samsung SyncMaster 793s)

Congratulations! You've found the keyboard shortcut to making your Samsung screen display portrait instead of landscape!

Now all you'll need to do to take advantage of this is lift the bottom of your screen forward, rotate it about its stand, and lower the bottom again!

I've got a Samsung SyncMaster 913n (almost the 19" equivalent of your 17" screen). It's one of the highlighted features!

Am I alone in wondering why on Earth you were pressing that combination of keys in the first place?

Or were you just doing random combinations in the hope of finding the "launch nuclear missiles" code?
Grrr. Argh.

Nope, Ive already have that combination :D

What happened is that a few days ago a girl at my job while she was working told me that something "wierd" happened to her pc so I went to see it and saw that all the info was upside down.

I said WTF? How this happened? And by playing sherlock I found out that she tried to end a program and instead of pressing alt, ctr, del, she pressed alt, ctr, arrow down.

So I tried alt, ctr, and arrow up and all was fine again.

my guess, it's for notebooks that are held in weird way... :eyebrow: perhaps... or for seeing not properly rotated photos. You know, instead of rotating the pics with an easy keycombo, you rotate the screen. Windows logic.

Still weird though-

That's... possibly the most useless feature I've ever found on my comp.

But, gods is it ever fun surfing the web with an upside down screen.

I'd imagine it increases the humour factor of Predabot's posts by about 100%.

My screen can rotate 90 degrees, so then it's a useful option. :)

I've never needed a portrait screen instead of a landscape one thoguh.

I don't think anything could make anything written by Predabot funny.

I've had mine in portrait for a while now.

It comes in very handy for documents, scanning and a few other things.

Not so handy when it comes to full-screen games, though. ;)
