Question for all you Europeans about jeans...

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Question for all you Europeans about jeans...

Post by wideload » Tue Feb 14, 2006 4:43 am

There seem to be a lot of diesel jeans on ebay...

ex:

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-2006-DIESEL-MEN ... dZViewItem

The price seems almost too good to be true (seeing as they sell for over $200 Canadian each here). Wondering the following:
1) what the typical pair of diesel jeans sells for in the UK (or the rest of Europe for that matter)
2) the probability these are real?

Hmm... I have bought a pair of Diesel jeans 5 years ago. It was about €85 then.

I guess a typical pair nowadays would be around €100 or something.

seriously, they are a brand name sure, but the quality is so high on them, they are all cross stiched, heavy duty fibre, fantastic cut for my body shape, I love them.
I want more more more!

They are great, it's true.

They really enhance you bodyshape and make your butt look perfect. I bought a pair 5 years ago, wore it every day until it fell apart, and then bought the same pair again. :)

Don't have any Diesel'd at the moment, found another perfect brand.

Dunno why, but whenever I think of denim I think of Pat Sharpe with a mullet.

£130 I think was the going rate for Zathans, when I last checked, which are the best cut imo.

From what I'ev seen, I'd personally be weary of sellers based in Thailand.

130Ł ?!? Man that's quite expensive... Trademark Jeans cost high here too, but not that high, around 100$ maybe. I don't know - I hardly buy TM clothes.
I found that Trademark stuff isn't usually worth it - especially Adidas shoes... I'll never buy one again, after it died in one year.

I cant stop buying Dolce & Gabbana shirts... Im weak to them...
I think im lucky tho, my body size fits the shirts very well, they always look good on me. only downside is they cost as much as my jeans and u have to hand wash them !

Oh, Nike Air 360 are ******* cool - first full air sole, evar!

If I like it, I'll wear it.

Am currently dressed in a once-black Megatron t-shirt that is so old the screenprint has mostly worn off, track pants and bunny slippers. Coooomfy...

Though that's because I'm sitting around waiting on my laundry, admittedly. but if I could, I'd go out like this. I've already worn my bunny slippers at work.

I don't think I've ever tried brand name clothing much though. The fact that some have a BIG LOGO SO EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT YOU'RE WEARING on them somewhere noticeable kinda puts me off...

I would definatly not buy a pair from Thailand. Will stick to the UK for ebay. I suppose if they arrive and they are fake, despite the fact that they claim to be real I can make a claim with ebay.

I'm really torn now, would literally save me $100 if I buy them on ebay, but not sure if it's worth the risk.

You can always go on the diesel site, find a pair you like then compare them to the auction to see if they are the same cut.

Most good makes, lets say Diesel, or D&G or even Gucci dont plaster thier logos anywhere, they are generaly incredbily discreet and un-vulgar.
They let thier clothes do the talking, I can spot a good shirt a mile off like my GF's can spot a lil black dress by a designer.
I think its more a sports wear thing that.

I dont have any clothes with huge logos on them, and its more to do with the idea I think it looks daft as apposed to the show off factor.

Actually I just realised the logo on my pants does show around the band more so then anything... I love my pants tho!
