Emulation, Good or Bad

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Emulation, Good or Bad

I love to play old SNES games on my computer, I have a bunch of good games on my computer. I also like the fact that I can play games that will never come to the US...Love Hina Advanced for example. What are your opinions

Personally as long as a game isn't commercially available I don't mind it. I avoid it as often as possible though.

I heard Lunar Eternal Blue was going to have a GBA port...something like Lunar Legends 2.

That would stink, the game just isn't meant for portability.

Yeah emulation is good.

Currently building a MAME aracde unit - whats also cool as i can put MAME into a shell and run ZSNES and other emulators through my arcade setup.

emulation is always fun :)

I'm currently running Office under Linux thanks to it!

Means next time I get a native word file someone's gone to town formatting I don't have to reformat it when I use OpenOffice.

emulation is good.
it saves me a lot of room, this way i don't have to have my amiga, bbc and atari all set up just to play the odd game or three, just double click the emulator and off you go.

actually, for a (short) while, I had my pc booting up straight into my emulated amiga... it was great! :D

I'm all up for emulation, its not like people can really make any money from all those defunct games anymore. Its a way of rembering those that have passed away and now live...on my gp32 ;)

I think it's alright. I'd definitely play some old games if I could... I was in love with the original Dragon Warrior game and Dizzy games as a kid.
