Battlestar Galactica

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Yeah DS9 was so cool when it went more episodic during the cardassian/dominion war, I really got into that. - i guess enterprise follows some similar pattern but it just wasnt correct.

DS9 had the grittiness, charaterisation and tension that has been sorely lacking from recent Trek fare. Half the guys on Enterprise were so forgettable I just couldn't be bothered with them.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Michelle Forbes is in tonights episode. I love that woman, and I'm surprised at how young she's looking-must be her haircut.

And with that last sentence, please excuse me while I go and search for my testicles...

I hear some US BSG fans have taken against Doctor Who from the outset because its replaced their timeslot (even tho the season just ended).

What do you think about the ending? I saw some people complaining about it, but I think that was quite a smart move. The reason why they came to NC is not stated clearly, so that can lead to whatever the hell writers want it to lead to.

And Dean S. was cool. :) I'm not a Cylon! I'm not! ... Oh.

I liked it. I was wary at first... initial reaction was that it was a dream. But I came round to it quickly You can't really have a year's worth of episodes of nothing much happening, really. Plus there's ambiguity to their purpose, as you say. The reasons are really up in the air atm... real ambiguity as to the motivations.

I thought Downloaded was absolutely superb. The whole Baltar/6 twist. Genius!

Damn Chief. First Boomer, now Cally. What the hell's he got that I haven't? Aside from being head mechanic on a post-apocalypse universe spaceship crewed by hotties...

My reaction when I saw him for the first time there: He's one of them! Now it all makes sense! :)

Though this episode made me wondering what exactly "number 6" refers to, because her explaination (or at least how I understood it) from the mini-series contradicts what we saw here.

Mine too. I think that's what they wanted, though. It was just pure "aaaah!" followed by "eh? oh... OH! Superb! If slightly puzzling..."

I can't check the mini as it's off being borrowed, but my understanding from what she said was that she was model number six. As in her design. Which was consistent...

Like I said, I just might have misunderstood, but I thought she meant that she was a sixth copy of the tall blonde woman Cylon model. And there were only 12 copies of each model. The latter is obviously not true, as evidenced at the end of first season and later in second, so the former is probably only in my mind, too. I should pay more attention to what is actually spoken rather than what the subtitles say.

So many people have recommended this series, that I'll give it a try. Trying to avoid spoilers, so sorry if this has been asked before. :o

Is this mini-series
http://play.com/play247.asp?pa=pab&page ... tle=157769
included in this season 1?
http://play.com/play247.asp?pa=pri&page ... tle=581474

Are those part of the same storyline?

No. :) It is included in the region 1 set, though.

Yes. Season 1 picks up after the Mini Series.

Just watched the finale-that was awesome.

Slight spoilerishness and general tid-bittery for season 3 can be located here:
