is out of date worthington's bad for you?

just found two crates of teh stuff in the basement here at work, only thing is it's best before date is last july... my way of thinking of it is that, although it is a bitter, it's still alcohol, and surely alcohol can't go out of date? but then i remember a time when i was 17 and drank most of a crate of out of date merrydown cider and was very, very ill...

mybe i should point out that' im already drunk? would that make a difference too?

If it tastes/smells vinegary, dump it. Alcohol can definitely go out of date.

How big was the crate?

Because that combined with the fact you were 17 may hold the key to unravelling the mystery...

But it does oxidise into vinegar with cumulative effect, as I once found out when someone spiked my drink with the table malt. Sweating vinegar is not a pleasant pastime. And nor is becoming drunk on it.

Since i was younf I have an adiction for Vinegar, salt and pepper, in a bowl, then I eat raw carrot dipped init.; I can even drink the stuff neat !

I found a 2 year old tin of wine gums this week. I can assure you wine gums go off.

I ate an out-date chestnut pulp. It had a slight lemon taste... I threw it out after one bowl...

Actually, it's the stuff that never goes wrong that worries me. Once I purchased a bottle of milk that had 'Good until 2008' on it. Imagine what must be in that stuff... anything but real milk.

I don't drink beer.

If it´s sealed in a tin, it´s fine. Drink it.

A friend of mine gave me loads of Kronenberg that was a month out of date, and although drinking 12 cans of it made me sick, I think that was more to do with the fact that Kronenberg makes me sick anyway. That stuff is nasty.
