You are that god?
I thought you were Primus
Well in the other case you are very ambituous God and Satan at the same time?
You must decide one!

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all Hindus a very prosperous Shivaratri, the festival in honour of Shiva, the god who is both creator and destroyer, ultimate good and ultimate evil, on the 26th Feb.Best First wrote:why, why not all?
why couldn't they be the same being?

Although Shiva is destroyer (and creator in a much less amount). Vishnu is the ultimate good. He is the one who enters in the universe as the fountain of all existance. The god of perdurance. He balances good by defeating the evil with "his mace". His 10 reencarnations as avatars are the guardians of good who will impede evil triumph.Rebis wrote:I would like to take this opportunity to wish all Hindus a very prosperous Shivaratri, the festival in honour of Shiva, the god who is both creator and destroyer, ultimate good and ultimate evil, on the 26th Feb.Best First wrote:why, why not all?

Shiva is the god of destruction opposed to Vishnu. Counterbalances the universe and who is in favor of the asuras. Lives in Kailash. His female side is Parvati
But note that "evil" and "good" in ancient cultures are not like our western conceptualizations.

On the contrary, Hindu deities represent various perceptions of one God. Shiva and Vishnu are, in the end, aspects of the supreme god, Brahma. Shiva being the guise for the Destroyer, Vishnu the guise of Preserver, with Saguna Brahman being the Creator. The Last Autobot wrote:Although Shiva is destroyer (and creator in a much less amount). Hindu gods proceed from Brahman not Brahma. Brahman is the Supreme Cosmic Spirit who is eternal, genderless, omnipotent and omniscient. Is the universe.Rebis wrote:On the contrary, Hindu deities represent various perceptions of one God. Shiva and Vishnu are, in the end, aspects of the supreme god, Brahma. The Trimurti are Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva in that order of importance. Each hindu god has a lot of names and different abbilities and deeds. Although they allegedly proceed from the universal egg (according to one of the myths) they are different indivuduals so to speak. At the end they form part of Brahman but act independently.
