England, Big Brother?

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

England, Big Brother?

Post by Obfleur » Tue Jan 10, 2006 9:28 am

I just read that Dennis Rodman and a bunch of other people are participating in this years Big Brother?
I also read that Rodman just stood still in a corner with his arms crossed when he entered the house?!
Any other cool info?

Fantastic selection of freaks this year. But then, they did have to top Jackie Stallone...

Heh, Rodman seems fun.

He was in Finland a couple of months ago and participated in a contest called "Carry your wife" (it's hard to translate).

On the whole, not been too enthused by the line up this year...
Apart from the likes of Barrymore, Lenska and Marsh I wouldn't classify the others as celebrities (Galloway is certainly famous although i wouldn't call him a "celebrity" per se - but thats nitpicking). The others, well i was like "Who the [composite word including 'f*ck'] is that?"...

Has so far failed to catch my attention, for once... previous years have at least had people i'm familiar with, Dee, Sweeney, Turner, Feltz, Dennis, Goldie. This year's seemed like scraping the barrel of the current Z list. :(

hopefully it will improve for me.

i would have said that Rodman is a pretty big celeb to be honest - maybe not over here, but in terms of recognition i think more people aroudn the world would know he is than anyone else.

Tracy Bingham is kind of endearing.

Faria Alam is... kind of scary.

Yeah Rodman is like the USA version of Becks I think but a bit more baddass - tracy bingham put her old Baywathc costume on which was funny. Joide Marsh, god knows.

Rodman is 3467 times more badass than Posh Becks.

Jesus i feel sorry for Marsh, she just got bullied to ****. Even that annoying tart Davina was pretty much laying into her in the exit interview.

how much of a **** is Barrymore?

It was pathetic-you basically had 3 grown men acting like kids and relentlessly bullying her over every little thing she did. You know when they get evicted they sometimes show what has been said behind their backs? I wonder if they'll show that **** Barrymore the clip of Jodie and Chantelle discussing vegetarians?

Jodie (in reference to Barrymore): "...yeah, he's got a major problem with vegetarians. I've got a major problem with people dying in swimming pools, but you don't hear me going on about it..."

And that business with George pretending to be a cat? Creeped the **** out of me, bloody weirdo.

Everyone seems ok except for Barrymore, George and Pete. Traci is great-she has this perpetual look of "everything is brilliant, but I'm not quite sure what's going on here".

Is that Drew Barrymore? :o That got famous in the legendary movie E.T?

Also... my Firefox-based Netscape 8 really, really doesn't like the british BB-site and hence crashes within 4 seconds after loading it...

Also, after looking at it in IE I notice that, sadly, it was not Drew Barrymore.

Rodman is also kind of forgotten about around here. The new irritation of sports in the US is Terrel Owens.

I got the impression that Rodman was like some big celeb over in the states of course I could be wrong as I dont live there.

The way Marsh got bullied was really disturbing, sure she can be brash and stuff but those older men acted like twats. barymoore is insane and ive always thought hes a bit on edge to be honest.

I thought Marsh did well in the exit interview and belive she got the crowd behind her in the end.

I really hope that 'non-celeb' girl wins it because to be honest shes been the most grown up and 'professional' in the house.

Marsh has actually gone up in my estimation significantly.

Galloway is amazingly full of himself. And this is from me. blimey.

I loved the way Saville just spent a few minutes going eurgh-eurgh-eurgh-eugh-eurgh (y'all know what I mean) to himself as he left the house. There's not enough of that on telly.

And I could watch Pete Burns all day.

that was great tv.

i hate to admit it.

but that was great tv.

It was as if some bizarre form of justice was done in the end, all the nasty elements got the response they deserved and Chentelle winning was the icing on the cake.

i reckon Preston's in trouble with his Mrs though...

I think Muhammad Ali is probably the worlds most recognized person though.

He's washed up in the states. His run with the Chicago Bulls really made him an international celebrity (arguably second only to Michael Jordan during his peak) but he's since fallen into the "where are they now" type category.

Rodman was the crazy-sports-guy during a time when all someone really had to do to get exposure was dye his hair and sport tattoos and piercings. Most of the big-name NBA guys are far more bizaare than Rodman ever was (on the court, anyway).

I'm not much of a fan of his recent work, tbh. I mean what's he done lately, eh? You never hear anything from him.

And being dead is no excuse. Just look at Elvis and Tom Jones.
Grrr. Argh.
