Schott = Awesome!
Really really good looking.
I have a leather jacket that looks something like this.
I don't look like him though. I am badass.
And I have grown tired of the jacket, and I am actually thinking about buying something similar to the ones you are thinking about (a more tight fit, and not so 'long').

Can't believe I'm still here.

I did consider one like yours, but recently ive been drawn to these biker type jackets - I like it when they have a stripe, or some added colour I guess.
Its actually quite hard to find a biker jacket, that isnt actually a real biker jacket, as many contain added padding, and armour slots for bike saftey.
Dont really want to spend more then £200 perhaps £250... theres a few Ben Shermen jackets out there, but im not to fond of Ben Shermen as a name - id prefer a schott, lambretta, anything D&G, diesil if they made any - or some other make of similar poncy'ness - i know names shouldnt matter but im weak. another matter i guess

Those jackets look pretty cool.
They might have really good one in second hand stores, if you know some quality-store they might even have the brands you like.
If I had a jackets, it would be slightly longer with a more defined waist. As much as I like the biker ones, they don't really suit my bodyshape.

Im 6ft 5 - 15stone (210 pounds) - and pretty square looking, so i think i can pull off a short jacket... of course ill have to try it.
I didnt consider 2nd hand jackets, so i went off to ebay to take a look (as thats all i can do right now as im sitting at home) - im not sure about ebay buying tho, even the most genuine clothes ive seen for sale sometimes look like fakes to me.
im quite drawn to that Lambretta, the could isnt what i intially wanted but it grows on me, and the model looks a bit like me so if its good for him it might be good for me.
I know MV has a trench coat leather jacket, its rather cool, but then so is his man skirt

Second hand stores are awesome.
Dedicated leather clothing shops also great for cheaper prices on just as good quality.
They probably won't have branded goods in them tho.
I have a short leather jacket that's been described as 'biker'. I wear it all the time. Grandad type collar, one of those no lapel jobbies, very tight fit (zips at the sides). It looks very similar to the Schott one up there. No stripes tho.
I don't know what name it is if it even is one.
TBH, even tho I have a similar one, I don't like stripes on those kinds of jackets. Doesn't look very good when standing about in the pub IMHO.
Of course, it doesn't help that the people I have seen wearing them in the past have all clearly been bad-haircutted painfully uncool physics teachers trying to pull women 15 years younger than them.
A guy your size and age would make it work, tho.
If I was to have a stripe on my jacket, out of those two I would pick the lambretta.
It just says 'hey I'm cool', whereas the first one is more 'hey look at me I am teh awesome phear my Herbie stripes.'

My mate has this jacket, I gave him some stick for it (he's now known as Boon) but it is very nice.
He was very fortunate to get it for only £90 from USC.
